Since 1957, 22nd Street Baptist Church has been committed to being a church where people can encounter the Gospel, develop spiritual maturity, and follow the Great Commission to share God’s Word with those around them. We are prayerfully seeking a pastor who will adhere to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, exemplify servant leadership through sound teaching and intentional shepherding of congregants, and join us in pursuing to reach our community with Christ’s love.

Primary Responsibilities 

• Serve as the primary preacher and teacher of the church through faithful, biblical, expositional preaching.
• Lead the congregation in understanding and applying God’s Word to everyday life.
• Provide spiritual, visionary, and strategic leadership for the church.
• Lead and equip church staff and ministry leaders.
• Work with church leadership in fulfilling the ministry of the church.
• Model Christlike character and maintain a healthy personal walk with the Lord.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate a clear testimony of salvation and a personal call to pastoral ministry.
• Meet the biblical qualifications for pastors found in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:5–9.
• Affirm the doctrinal beliefs of the Southern Baptist Convention, including the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
• Ordained or licensed Southern Baptist minister.
• Possess strong expository preaching and teaching abilities.
• Demonstrate a heart for evangelism, discipleship, and missions.
