Director of Children’s Discipleship Part Time

First Baptist Church Mandeville, Louisiana is looking for a part-time Director of Children’s Discipleship to help us reach the next generation. If you love kids, love the gospel, and want to build something with eternal impact in a thriving kids ministry with a large volunteer corps, we’d love to talk.

The Role: The Director of Children’s Discipleship which reports to the Lead Pastor, designs and leads gospel-centered discipleship for our kids (newborn–6th grade), and partners with our families. With the help of the Assistant to Director of Children’s Discipleship, you will shape the environment, lead the volunteer team, and create a safe, welcoming place where we come alongside our parents to disciple their children for the Lord.

What You’ll Do

Plan, order, and facilitate a gospel-centered curriculum for all children’s ministries, including Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.
Support, train, disciple, and lead our team of children’s ministry volunteers
Oversee weekly services, nursery, check-in/check-out, and child safety procedures
Plan all children & family events including VBS, Easter, Fall Fest, Christmas, Summer camp, Baptism class and Family Dedication Sundays.
Partner with parents through periodic equipping meetings and everyday connection
Manage Preschool and Children facilities, plus budget and resource stewardship

Who We’re Looking For

A follower of Jesus with a heart for children and families
Affirms the Baptist Faith & Message 2000
Prior children’s or family ministry experience preferred (paid or volunteer)
Strong administrative and organizational skills; comfortable with technology
A natural recruiter and encourager who can grow and lead a volunteer team
Willing to actively participate in and become a member of First Baptist Mandeville
Must pass a background check (required for all who serve with children)

The Details

Part-time, approximately [20-25] hours/week with opportunity for increase
Compensation: commensurate with experience
Location: Mandeville, LA (on-site)
