Minister of Children Full Time

OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION:

The Minister of Children is responsible for spiritually leading a Christ-centered, gospel- driven ministry that nurtures the spiritual formation of the Children’s Ministry (birth – fifth grade). This position will minister to children and equip families to disciple their children, through aligned efforts with the Next Gen. Team. This role exists to help fulfill the mission of Quail Springs Baptist Church to lead people to become passionate followers of Jesus Christ.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee the spiritual development of children and their families through the discipleship and events of the church, ensuring excellence in teaching, worship, safety, and hospitality.

• Openly and actively share the Gospel with children in partnership with parents and/or other caregivers.

• Work with the Next Generation Executive Pastor to cast and implement a compelling vision for discipleship of children that aligns with the church’s overall mission.

• Work with the Next Gen team to minister to the families of QSBC.

• Recruit, train, and lead a team of staff and volunteers committed to evangelism and disciple-making among children.

• Connect with parents to offer biblical guidance and resources to strengthen marriages, parenting, and disciple-making at home.

• Steward the Children’s Ministry budget with integrity and fiscal responsibility.

• Fulfill any duties assigned by the Next Generation Executive Pastor.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A clear and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, demonstrated through personal integrity, spiritual maturity, and alignment with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.

• A calling to serve children and families through the local church.

• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Proven experience in children’s ministry leadership within a local church context.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; preference given to degrees in ministry, child development, or a related field. Master’s degree in ministry, theology, education, or leadership appreciated.

• Able to lead, develop, and disciple both staff and volunteers. 3-5 years of supervisory experience is preferred.

• Very large/Megachurch experience preferred

• Preschool Ministry Associate (Birth – 1’s)

• Two’s Staffing Coordinator

• Three’s Staffing Coordinator

• Pre-K Staffing Coordinator

• Director of Weekday Early Education

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Able to perform tasks related to classroom setup, and event logistics.

• Performs duties within a typical office environment and regularly moves about the QSBC campus; occasionally lifts 25+ pounds.

• Driving required for ministry-related activities.

• Occasional overnight travel for camps or continued ministry development (ex. conferences, retreats, etc.)
