Vision for the Position

First Baptist Church Leesburg seeks a spiritually mature, relational, and musically gifted Worship Pastor for our South Campus in Leesburg, Florida. This leader must be able to direct and develop a choir, lead worship from an instrument, and blend traditional hymns with contemporary songs to engage all generations.

The pastor will lead South’s worship ministry with meaningful autonomy while collaborating with worship leaders across our five campuses under the Lead Worship Pastor. Together, they will share resources, plan ministry, and pursue a common vision while serving each congregation’s needs.

Our church vision—“A light to our community and a launching pad to the nations”—extends beyond Sunday worship. This pastor will help people grow through Scripture, relationships, service, and sharing the gospel locally and globally.

About the Church

First Leesburg is one church in five locations: Downtown Leesburg, South, Village Park, Oxford, and Weirsdale. Each campus offers live worship and preaching, with a shared commitment to biblical teaching, meaningful relationships, and gospel-centered ministry.

Led by Senior Pastor Cliff Lea, we are a pastor-led, deacon-served, multigenerational church focused on Worship, Connect, and Engage. Choirs, instrumentalists, and vocal teams support our blended worship, helping the congregation glorify God and lift up Jesus.

Founded in 1985, our Christian Care Center puts Christ’s love into action through its mission of “Meeting Needs and Sharing Christ,” providing practical assistance, recovery, housing, family support, and medical care through the Community Medical Care Center.

About the Opportunity

This pastor will oversee the choir, instrumentalists, vocal leaders, and production volunteers through four priorities:

Lead worship: Plan Christ-centered services, lead from an instrument, direct the choir, and conduct effective rehearsals.
Develop teams: Recruit and equip volunteers, strengthen musical skills, encourage spiritual growth, and provide pastoral care.
Collaborate: Share ideas and resources with campus worship leaders and support churchwide gatherings while overseeing South’s worship ministry.
Shepherd people: Build relationships and help the congregation connect worship with daily faith and service.

About the Community

South Campus sits along U.S. Highway 27 near Windsong, serving established and growing communities toward Clermont and greater Orlando. The area includes young families, working adults, and retirees. The Villages is part of the surrounding region, though farther from South than Village Park.

Leesburg, “The Lakefront City,” combines small-town community life, lakes, boating, fishing, and parks with access to Orlando’s shopping, dining, entertainment, and attractions.
