Pastor Full Time

The pastor shall serve as the chief under shepherd and overseer of this local church, feeding, leading, and nurturing the sheep.  The pastor’s main responsibilities will be to communicate God’s Word; minister to spiritual needs and provide biblical leadership for the church.

The pastor is accountable to: God, the congregation and the board of directors (deacons).

Duties:

Oversee staff

Provide leadership and vision for the church.  Direct plans for ministry and church growth; develop and fine-tune the church structure.

Motivate, equip and nurture the people of the church through example, preaching and teaching God’s Word and providing spiritual counseling.

Spend significant time in prayer and Bible study.

Contact/visit hospitalized and grieving church members.

Officiate at weddings and funerals upon request.

provide premarital counseling, counseling regarding salvation and spiritual issues and other counseling for church members as time permits.

Perform the Lord’s Supper and baptisms.

Oversee church discipline and manage conflict in the Church.  Seek to reconcile and promote unity within the church.

Participate in evangelism efforts through preaching and giving invitations during worship services, revival or other special services, visitation and other outreach efforts.

The pastor shall have in charge the welfare and oversight of the church; the pastor shall be an ex-office member of all organizations, departments and committees; May recommend a special meeting of the deacons or any committee according to procedures which may be set forth in the bylaws; shall conduct religious services on stated and special occasions, administer the ordinances, minister to members of the church and community, and perform other duties that usually pertain to that office; shall have special charge of the pulpit ministry of the church and shall, in cooperation with the deacons, provide for pulpit supply when absent and arrange for workers to assist in revival meetings and other special services.  The pastor shall be the administrative head of the church and shall, with the approval of the personnel committee, arrange and approve all absences and vacations of all church employees.
