A Better SBC Jobs Experience Is Here

Over the past several weeks, we’ve been working behind the scenes to improve SBC Jobs in ways that make it easier to use, easier to discover opportunities, and more effective for both churches and ministry leaders. Today we’re excited to share several updates designed to help churches connect with the people God is calling and help ministry leaders discover their next place of service.

These changes focus on three priorities: making the site look better, work better, and promote opportunities more effectively.

A Cleaner, More Focused Experience

One of the first things you’ll notice is a refreshed look and feel across the site. We’ve streamlined the job listings layout, improved the way positions are displayed, and made it easier to quickly scan opportunities.

Instead of digging through cluttered listings, users can now browse jobs in a clean, organized format that highlights the most important information—position title, church name, location, and job type. Whether you’re exploring opportunities for the first time or checking in regularly, the improved design makes it easier to see what’s available and move quickly to positions that might be a good fit.

In short, the site now feels simpler and more intuitive, helping ministry leaders spend less time searching and more time considering the opportunities in front of them.

Improvements That Make the Site Work Better

While the visual improvements are noticeable, many of the most important changes are happening behind the scenes.

We’ve strengthened the way the site handles job listings, improved performance, and refined how information is displayed and organized. These updates make the platform more reliable for churches posting positions and more consistent for users browsing listings.

For churches, posting a job is straightforward and efficient. For those searching for a position, the browsing experience is smoother and more predictable. The goal is simple: remove friction so churches and ministry leaders can connect more easily.

These improvements also position SBC Jobs for future growth, ensuring the platform continues to serve Southern Baptist churches well in the months and years ahead.

Promoting Opportunities More Effectively

Perhaps the most exciting improvement is how we’re now helping promote the jobs posted on the site.

New listings are now automatically shared across our social channels, helping opportunities reach a wider audience of ministry leaders who may be exploring their next step in ministry. Instead of relying solely on someone visiting the website, opportunities are now being actively promoted so they can reach pastors, staff members, and ministry leaders wherever they are online.

We’ve also improved our daily email updates so that those who subscribe can more easily stay informed about the latest ministry opportunities. These emails provide a simple way to see newly posted positions and stay connected to what churches across the Convention are seeking in their next leaders.

The goal is simple: help the right people discover the right opportunities.

For churches posting jobs, this means your listing receives additional visibility. For those searching for ministry roles, it means more opportunities are being surfaced and shared regularly.

Preparing for What Comes Next

These improvements are also part of a larger effort to strengthen SBC Jobs as a trusted resource for connecting churches with ministry leaders.

Beginning May 1, SBC Jobs will transition to a paid model for job postings. Our goal is not simply to add a fee, but to continue investing in the platform so it provides meaningful value for both churches and ministry leaders. The recent updates you’re seeing are part of that effort—creating a stronger platform that looks better, functions more smoothly, and promotes opportunities more effectively.

Looking ahead, another feature we are planning to introduce later this summer is a “blind” résumé directory. This directory will allow ministry leaders to share their experience and ministry background while keeping their identity confidential, giving churches the ability to explore potential candidates while protecting the privacy of those who may already be serving in a ministry role. It will be another way SBC Jobs helps churches and ministry leaders connect thoughtfully and responsibly.

Together, these improvements represent the next step in continuing to build SBC Jobs into a platform that better serves Southern Baptist churches and those exploring where God may be leading them next.

Serving Churches and Those Called to Ministry

At the end of the day, SBC Jobs exists for one reason: to help churches find the leaders they need and help ministry leaders find the places where God may be calling them to serve.

We’re grateful for the churches that trust this platform to share their opportunities and for the many ministry leaders who visit the site each week exploring where God might lead next.

If you’re a church looking for your next pastor or staff member, we invite you to post your position. And if you’re exploring your next place of ministry, we encourage you to browse the latest opportunities.

As always, you can explore current listings anytime at SBC Jobs.
