About the Role
Antioch Baptist Church is seeking a full-time Student Pastor to provide spiritual leadership, discipleship, and pastoral care for our students and their families. This role exists to help students grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and live out their faith in biblical community.
Reports to: Senior Pastor
 
Key Responsibilities
Spiritual Leadership
• Teach and disciple students through Sunday Small Groups and Wednesday Night programming
• Lead students in evangelism, discipleship, and outreach
• Model Christ-centered living through personal devotion and obedience to Scripture
Ministry & Programming
• Plan and oversee retreats, camps, conferences, and ministry events
• Develop annual ministry calendar aligned with church vision
• Ensure programming prioritizes discipleship over activities
Pastoral Care
• Build relationships with students, parents, and families
• Provide pastoral care including hospital visits and family support
• Support broader church ministry as needed
Leadership & Administration
• Recruit, train, and equip volunteers and small group leaders
• Manage Student Ministry budget responsibly
• Communicate effectively with parents, students, and staff
• Ensure compliance with church safety and protection policies
Church Support
• Collaborate with Senior Pastor and staff on church mission and vision
• Preach or assist in worship services as requested
• Participate in staff meetings and church-wide events
 
Qualifications
• Seminary degree required
• Several successful years of youth ministry experience
• Capability in organization, administration, and interpersonal relationships with demonstrated ability to recruit team members
• A deep and abiding love for God that flows from persistent devotion through prayer and Bible study and is clearly visible in life and ministry
• Strong biblical teaching and communication skills
• Commitment to Scripture as the authority for faith and practice
• Ability to minister to a campus with a youth ministry and also a school that is attached, possibly over 150 kids per week
