ANTIOCH BAPTIST CHURCH
Lewisburg, Kentucky

Now Seeking a
FAMILY AND WORSHIP PASTOR

Antioch Baptist Church in Lewisburg, Kentucky is prayerfully seeking a Family and Worship Pastor — a called, spiritually mature man who is gifted to shepherd the next generation and lead the congregation in God-centered worship. This is a full-time pastoral position that combines oversight of our youth and children’s ministries with direction of our music and worship ministry. This position will remain open until filled.

Profile of the Church
Antioch Baptist Church was founded in 1818 and has served as a hub of Christian faithfulness in Logan and Todd Counties for over 200 years. At various times, Antioch has been known as a “singing church” and a “discipleship-emphatic” church — but whatever our reputation in any given season, we have always been centered on Biblical fidelity.

Worship and Weekly Life
At present, the church averages 65–75 attendees on a given Sunday, with the vast majority faithfully attending Sunday School prior to morning worship and Small Group on Sunday evenings. On Wednesdays, we offer classes for all ages and a full community meal prior to service.

Missions
Antioch is an outward-looking church. We send members each year to international mission fields including Honduras, Nicaragua, and Ghana, as well as American cities in need of gospel ministry such as New York City, Salt Lake City, and Otoe, Oklahoma. We partner with three missionary families — one serving in Japan, one in Albania, and one in Oklahoma.

Culture and Convictions
Culturally, our church is conservative. We have publicly stood against abortion and same-sex marriage as those issues have arisen in our local communities. Ecclesiologically, we are striving to follow the model outlined in Mark Dever’s Nine Marks of a Healthy Church, including the development of a plurality of elders. The Family and Worship Pastor would serve as our second elder.

Theology and Worship Style
Theologically, we are covenantal. Regarding worship music, we do not hold a rigid position on style — our conviction is that music must be Biblically faithful and structured to welcome and accommodate full congregational participation.

Convention Life
We are glad participants in the Southern Baptist Convention, and we invest in that partnership by funding our pastor and any others who desire to attend the annual SBC meeting each June. We also actively utilize the resources and opportunities offered by the Kentucky Baptist Convention and our local association.

The Role
The Family and Worship Pastor will carry primary responsibility in two ministry areas:
Youth & Children’s Ministry (Birth–12th Grade)
• Provide vision and hands-on leadership for all youth (grades 6–12) and children’s (birth–5th grade) programming.
• Recruit, train, and shepherd volunteers for age-graded discipleship ministries.
• Develop and implement biblically faithful curriculum that partners with parents in the discipleship of their children.
• Cultivate meaningful pastoral relationships with families of the church.
• Plan and coordinate camps, retreats, mission trips, and special events.

Worship & Music Ministry
• Lead the congregation in corporate worship that is theologically rich, God-centered, and accessible to all generations.
• Direct, recruit, and develop the church’s music ministry (vocal and/or instrumental).
• Select worship music consistent with the church’s theological convictions and in collaboration with the Senior Pastor.
• Assist in planning weekly services and special services (Christmas, Easter, etc.).

Preaching
The Family and Worship Pastor will have opportunity to preach in the Sunday worship service on a monthly basis, as desired, under the oversight of the Senior Pastor.

Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will be a man who:
• Meets the biblical qualifications for a church elder/overseer as set forth in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:6–9.
• Holds firm to sound doctrine and is able to give instruction in it and to rebuke those who contradict it (Titus 1:9).
• Has a genuine confession of faith in Jesus Christ and a life consistent with that profession.
• Has demonstrated experience in youth ministry leadership and a track record of spiritual investment in students and families.
• Is able to lead congregational worship and direct a church music ministry.
• Possesses strong relational and communication skills with children, youth, adults, and parents.
• Is in full alignment with the Baptist Faith & Message 2000 and the theological commitments of Antioch Baptist Church.

Formal theological or ministry education is appreciated, though not required. The Family and Worship Pastor is accountable to the church body.

Compensation
This position has an annual salary of $26,000.
