About the Role OPERATIONS TEAM LEAD Full Time Position (40 hrs/weekly) located at Apex in Kettering, OH.

SUMMARY OF ROLE The Operations Team Lead is responsible for the implementation and integration of administration and general oversight of services supporting Apex Community Church as well as serving as pastor to the staff.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE Three (3) plus years of direct supervisory experience and/or leading teams Demonstrated commitment to make disciples of Christ who make disciples A strong business acumen as demonstrated through general knowledge of the following operational areas:

  • Financial/Budget Management
  • Accounting Software (i.e. QuickBooks)
  • Physical Plant
  • Security/Safety
  • Information Technology and Social Media
  • Contracting
  • Human Resources/Employee Relations
  • Non-Profit Legal Requirements

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS OF THE OPERATIONS TEAM LEAD

  • Directs the integration and implementation of Apex’s strategic vision, which originates with the Preaching Team Lead, the Elders, and other ministry Team Leads. This is accomplished with the collaboration and assistance of the Operations Team, staff, prayer teams, and others in the body.
  • Embraces and demonstrates teachability, alignment with Apex’s vision and humility of spirit
  • Fully embraces the big picture within Apex and the desire to drive it forward.
  • Works diligently to ensure alignment of efforts across staff and ministry areas.
  • Helps Apex staff effectively and efficiently accomplish tasks deemed essential to Apex’s vision.
  • Meets weekly with Preaching Team Lead and Elders
  • Meets regularly with the Leadership Team, consisting of the Elders, Preaching Team Lead, and other Staff Team Leads
  • Models discipleship to staff and others by utilizing huddles
  • Serves as chairman of the Operations Team, meeting and working closely with the team, who have experience/expertise in various areas related to church management, to oversee:
    • Human Resources
    • Apex’s finances
    • Facilities management, including security and safety
    • Information technology infrastructure
    • Legal, insurance, and other administrative matters;
    • Communication within Apex
    • Regularly oversees, encourages, resources and disciples Apex Staff Team Leads and, where needed, other staff members:
  • Providing oversight and direction, biblical encouragement, and accountability for agreed upon goals;
  • Providing coaching, equipping, and training where needed;
  • Routinely scheduling, reviewing, and documenting job performance.
