ActivePosition Summary: The senior pastor is called of God to be the spiritual leader of the church as the undershepherd* of the Good Shepherd, in proclaiming and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the truths of Scripture; leading people to trust Jesus as their personal Savior and Lord; helping Christians grow spiritually to be like Christ and live for Christ; ministering to the needs of people in the church and community; providing visionary, Spirit-led leadership in the life and ministry of the church; and serving as the lead administrator to the ministry staff and church employees. The pastor is responsible to God and to the church for faithfully carrying out this calling and ministry with prayer, conviction, faith, vision, and humility.
Ministry Requirements:
Ephesians 4: 11-13 (NKJV): 11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.

Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
1. Preach and teach biblically based, and spiritually inspired sermons during regular worship services, dedicated events, and other church gatherings.
2. Provide pastoral care to Arbor Christian Fellowship congregation members including counseling and support to individuals and families; hospital and home visits; and crisis intervention.
3. Administer ordinances, including baptism and communion, in accordance with Southern Baptist beliefs and practices.
4. Lead, oversee, and preside over the planning and execution of worship services, Bible studies, weddings, and funeral services.
5. Encourage tithing and sacrificial giving as God’s method of financially supporting His church.
6. Communicate with the worship leader to coordinate music, and deacon of the week, to organize elements for each week’s service.
7. Work collaboratively with associate ministers, deacons, trustees, church staff, and lay leaders to develop and implement ministry initiatives that support the mission and vision of Arbor Christian Fellowship.
8. Capacity to manage multiple responsibilities and priorities effectively, with mindfulness and a commitment to excellence.
9. The ability to adapt and respond to the changing needs and dynamics of church life and ministry.
10. Membership in good standing with a Southern Baptist denomination or association, with adherence to Southern Baptist beliefs and principles.
11. Willingness to undergo background checks including but not limited to credit, criminal, social media, drug screening, education, and employment verification.
12. Candidate should have a basic proficiency in computer literacy and skills.
13. Personal financial responsibility to have the means to afford to live in/near Orange County, California.
Physical Requirements: This position may require occasional lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods during worship services, events, and other church activities.
Compensation: Salary and benefits package commensurate with experience and qualifications.
