Children’s Minister Full Time

This is a full-time position that is responsible to the Lead Pastor and the church as a whole for directing a comprehensive discipleship ministry for children (birth to 6th grade) and parents/caregivers.

Role and Responsibilities:
Comprehensive ministry of children’s discipleship (birth through 6th grade)
Assimilating children and parents into the overall life of the church
Recruit, train, and oversee Children’s Ministry volunteers 
Plan, coordinate, and lead effective Wednesday night (Kids! Cross+Training) ministry
Plan, coordinate, and lead effective Sunday morning Children’s classes
Plan, coordinate, and lead effective children’s camps and events
Identify training opportunities for parents/families in family discipleship (family worship, discipling children, spiritual leadership, etc.)
Ministerial care in coordination with pastors and other ministers
Other duties as Lead Pastor directs

What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree, and/or Biblical training preferred
Competence in child development, programming, education/discipleship, organization, and leader recruiting and mobilization
Knowledge of policies including but not limited to budgeting, child protective issues
Understanding of Wednesday night and Sunday morning ministry models and ability to implement them
Demonstrated heart for, and ability to interact with, children-birth through 6th grade
Demonstrated heart for, and ability to interact with, parents/caregivers
Strong administrative skills
Strong leadership
Strong people skills
Strong communication skills
Compassionate heart
Ability to advance children’s ministry to increasing levels of effectiveness
Will be an active member of Arrow Heights Baptist Church
Biblical, doctrinal, and theological acumen in alignment with Arrow Heights statements of faith and the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
