Children’s Minister Full Time

Children’s Ministry Leader/Director
Reports To: Pastor
Schedule: Full-time (Typical Weekly work week is Sunday through Thursday; open to part-time consideration)

Overview
The Children’s Ministry Leader/Director at Beech Street Baptist Church will lead and oversee all ministries for children from birth through 5th grade. This role exists to help kids come to know Jesus, grow in their faith, and become connected to the life of the church. Through teaching, equipping volunteers, and leading family-focused events, this leader will ensure that the children’s ministry supports the overall vision of the church: Love God, Love Others, Live Sent.

Responsibilities
Lead and oversee Sunday morning Life Group hour and children’s worship hour.

Direct Wednesday night discipleship for children.

Plan and lead VBS, children’s camp, and other children’s events and outreach efforts throughout the year.

Recruit, train, and equip volunteers for effective children’s ministry.

Provide oversight of part-time nursery workers and the administrative assistant in the children’s ministry area.

Secure and manage curriculum for all children’s programming.

Ensure all safety and security policies for children’s ministry are implemented and maintained.

Connect children and families to the larger body of Christ, avoiding silo ministry approaches.

Collaborate with the Pastor and staff team to ensure children’s ministry aligns with the vision and direction of the church.
Ensure youth ministry aligns with the vision and mission of Beech Street: Love God, Love Others, Live Sent.
Provide children the opportunity to serve and be “hands on” with mission projects and church service..
Prepare and oversee an annual budget for ministry to children and families that is built upon an annual vision and focus for ministry. The annual budget will be prepared for the Budget Study Team of BSFBC and is subject to church approval.
Continually work to improve and develop ministry/leadership skills through seminars, conferences, and other forms of continuing education.

Qualifications
A personal relationship with Jesus Christ marked by humility, love, and a servant heart.

A clear calling and passion for reaching and discipling children.

Ability to lead teams, build relationships, and foster a healthy culture among volunteers.

Strong organizational skills to plan, calendar, and coordinate children’s ministry.

Alignment with the mission of Beech Street Baptist: Love God, Love Others, Live Sent.

Experience in children’s ministry is helpful but not required.

Compensation
Full-time position with flexibility for part-time if needed. Compensation commensurate with experience.
