Seeking an Interim Pastor for Bethel Baptist Church

Are you called to lead, inspire, and serve? Our church is seeking a dedicated and passionate interim pastor to join our church family and guide us in faith, worship, and service on Sunday’s.

Our church is a place where faith, fellowship, and community come together to support each other and serve our neighbors. We are looking forward to developing different ministries/programs as we grow.

Interim Pastor Expectations:

Commit to 1 year of Preaching: Delivering inspiring and biblically sound sermons on Sunday mornings
Provide spiritual guidance, counseling, and support to the members/church body
Collaborate with the leadership teams to lead our church forward and grow the body of believers
Help to foster relationships within the church and wider community by assisting the leadership team with outreach initiatives
Help the church body discover our unique spiritual gifts and how to use them for God’s service
Qualifications:

A man with a deep and personal relationship with Jesus Christ
Attended seminary
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A heart for Jesus, service and a vision for church growth
Married and wife who is as equally committed to the Lord.
Understand that this is a part-time position and the salary is $15,000 for the year, 4 Sundays paid vacation/sick leave.

Profile of Community: Our church is located on the rural Eastern Shore of Virginia. We are a diverse community of many different industries, ethnicities, and education levels. We have three hospitals within an hour drive and nationally renowned hospitals within two hours. There are a variety of outdoor activities for adults and children.  Depending on your location in the county, you could travel 30 minutes to get to a grocery store. The median annual salary in Accomack County is $57,000 for a household and $31,000 for the individual. We do have a parsonage, if the pastor and his family would need a place to live.

Demographics: Our church is located in Bloxom Virginia but our church body lives local as well as far as 45 miles away. Our church congregation age range is 97 to 5 months. We typically have 20-25 people on a Sunday morning.

Information about schools: There are three public high schools, two Christian schools and one private school in the county.
