Position Summary:  This is a part-time, salaried exempt position that reports directly to the Pastor under leadership of the Deacon Board. This position exists primarily to lead the people of Bethel Baptist Church in multi-generational worship experiences that help them connect meaningfully with God. Ultimately the goal of worship ministry is to lead people to glorify God.

Primary Expectations:

1. Provide leadership, direction, and enhancement to the worship ministry of Bethel Baptist Church that is in line with the overall vision, purpose, and mission of our church.
2. Recruit, train, and motivate worship team to use their gifts in congregational worship.
3. Oversee song selection, media preparation and presentation, sound and lighting enhancements, and coordination of all instrumentalists and vocalists.
4. Initiate regular communication to the church regarding the worship ministry and ensure regular communication with worship team.
5. Attend weekly staff meetings.
6. Maintain music library, materials, supplies, musical instruments, and other equipment.
7. Be sensitive to varying and changing worship needs of the congregation.
8. Commit to regular quality time in Bible study and prayer.
9. Be an active church member of Bethel Baptist Church.
10. Abide by the code of conduct of Bethel Baptist Church.
11. In consultation with the pastor, plan the corporate worship service of Bethel Baptist Church with prayer, conceptual forethought, theological accuracy, and musical appropriateness.
12. Lead worship on Sunday mornings. Schedule two practices each week, a mid-week practice and a Sunday morning practice. Lead worship at special services (e.g., Good Friday service, Christmas Eve service, etc.)
13. Demonstrate proficiency in leading worship with a strong vocal ability. Lead with guitar and/or keyboard or  working knowledge of musical instrumentation.
14. Perform other tasks as assigned when such tasks would enrich and enhance the mission of the church.
15. The expected time commitment for this position is an average of 12 hours per week at a salary of $10,400 a year. This includes planning, implementation, connections outside of church, and other activities listed that are worship ministry specific.

Time Off Benefits:

• This position allows two weeks off per year for personal use (e.g., vacation) with pay upon approval by the Pastor.
• This position allows two additional Sundays off with pay for ministry activities (e.g., mission trips, parachurch opportunities, camp counseling, etc.) with the approval of the Pastor.
