Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate and Spirit-led Worship Pastor to lead and develop the music and worship ministry at Bethel Baptist church, a vibrant and growing congregation. The Worship Pastor will oversee all aspects of worship and music across the church’s ministries—including Sunday services, youth and children’s programs, and special events (indoor and outdoor)—ensuring a cohesive and Christ-centered worship experience that engages all generations. In addition, the Worship Pastor will have responsibility over all aspects of media and technology for the church. Furthermore, the Worship Pastor will develop and maintain a ministry to young adults (approximately 18 to 30 years old). 

Key Responsibilities:
1) Worship Leadership

Corporate Worship Services

Oversee all areas related to music, including all vocal and instrumental music, as well as sound and visual systems. 
Plan and lead Sunday morning worship services in collaboration with the Senior Pastor and staff.

Select and arrange music that aligns with the sermon theme and church vision.

Lead and develop a team of volunteer musicians and vocalists through regular rehearsals, mentoring, and discipleship.

Incorporate a variety of musical styles that appeal to a multi-generational congregation.
Communicate and lead these teams spiritually through devotions, prayer, and mentorship.
Create stage designs as necessary to enhance the worship environment and experience.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor. 

Youth and Children’s Ministry Support
Coordinate with the youth and children’s ministry leaders to support music in weekly programs, special services, and events.

Mentor and involve youth and children in worship teams as appropriate, helping develop the next generation of worship leaders.

Special Events and Outdoor Activities
Organize and lead worship for special services and events (e.g., Christmas, Easter, baptisms, retreats, outdoor services, community events, etc.).

Coordinate logistics, equipment, and volunteer teams for outdoor or off-site worship settings.

Administrative and Ministry Development
Oversee scheduling, communication, and team coordination using planning tools (e.g., Planning Center, ChurchSuite).

Maintain worship technology and equipment, including sound, projection, and live streaming systems.

Steward the music ministry budget, purchases, and licensing.

Participate actively in staff meetings, church planning, and vision casting.
Maintain regular office hours. 
Will perform some of the general pastoral ministries of the church (teaching, counseling, visitation, etc.)
Assist, create, and lead in creation and production of church related content.

2) Media Coordination

Digital Presence:

• Manage the church’s website and social media platforms to ensure timely and relevant content.

• Design graphics, videos, and promotional materials for events, sermons, and ministries.

Live Production:

• Children’s programs, Youth Events, Worship Services, and Special events.

• Maintain audio/visual equipment and troubleshoot technical issues.

Marketing and Outreach:

• Develop strategies to increase online engagement and community outreach. 

• Collaborate with Church Secretary to produce professional newsletters, bulletins, and email campaigns to communicate with the congregation.

3) Young Adult Ministries

Vision and Strategy

Develop and implement a strategic plan for a vibrant young adult ministry aligned with the church’s overall mission and values.

Create pathways for spiritual growth, leadership development, and community involvement among young adults.

Teaching and Discipleship

Lead regular gatherings with biblical teaching that is relevant, engaging, and theologically sound.

Recruit, train, and mentor a team of young adult leaders and volunteers.

Develop small groups, Bible studies, and discipleship relationships.
Outreach and Community

Connect with local colleges, universities, and community hubs to reach unchurched young adults.

Plan events, retreats, and service opportunities that foster connection, evangelism, and spiritual growth.

Provide pastoral care, counseling, and guidance as needed.

Integration and Collaboration

Partner with other ministry departments to ensure a cohesive church culture.

Encourage young adults to be involved in the broader life of the church (worship, service, missions, etc.).

Qualifications:

A growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and a lifestyle that reflects spiritual maturity and leadership.
Agreement with the beliefs and doctrine of Bethel Baptist Church and the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
A Bachelor’s Degree in music, worship ministry, theology, pastoral ministry, or a related field. (seminary education preferred).
2+ years of experience in Music Ministry, Young adult, college, or student ministry.

Proven experience leading contemporary and blended worship in a church setting.

Proficiency in at least one lead instrument (e.g., guitar or piano), with strong vocal ability.

Experience training and mentoring volunteer musicians and singers.
Proficiency in media production and graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).
Proficiency in Planning Center.

Strong organizational, leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with pastoral staff, volunteers, and congregation members.

Proven ability to connect with, inspire, mentor, and disciple young adults from diverse backgrounds.

Compensation
Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
