Director of Children’s Ministry Internship

This internship is designed to allow the intern to gain experience and knowledge of children’s ministry during a predetermined amount of time and has the potential to become a full time position at the completion of the internship.

The purpose of the internship is to provide experience in all areas of children’s ministry within the context of the larger church.  Interns participate in learning opportunities while engaging in relational ministry with children and their families.

The internship provides encouragement, mentoring, and training from the Children’s Ministry team, development of team management, project management, and conflict management skills, growth in communication skills, and large group teaching practice.  You will also have the opportunity to think creatively, brainstorm, plan, and implement ideas.  You will be guided in leadership and administrative development and have exposure to the broad scope of ministry within the church.  This internship will give you an opportunity to explore your gifts and calling to vocational ministry, and to develop spiritually.

Responsiblities

Work alongside Children’s Ministry staff in creating, implementing, and leading ministry and programming to children that invites and encourages them to encounter Jesus Christ, grow in their faith, and join him in his work in the world.
Assist in the coordination and support of volunteers in their ministry with children.
Facilitate Sunday morning and Wednesday evening children’s programs with other staff and volunteers which includes set-up, check-in, Bible teaching, crafts, games, ensuring safety, interacting with parents, etc.
Participate in training, enrichment and planning opportunities with our volunteers, staff, and other interns.
Help in the planning and implementing of celebrations, events, and camps for kids and families.
Administrative duties such as designing and printing flyers, calendaring, running database reports, etc.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Participate in corporate worship at BBC.

Is able to work on multiple tasks and is flexible and hard working.
Must be willing to do frequent walking, standing, stooping, bending, and lifting.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
Will support the ministry and leadership of BBC through prayer.
