Purpose:

The Preschool Director will work under the leadership of the Kid’s Pastor of Brookstone Church to oversee all weekly ministry needs and special event needs for all pre-school aged children and families.

Qualifications :

  • Pursue a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and exhibit evidence of living a Spirit-filled life.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance to Brookstone.
  • Promote a positive, ministry-minded, and healthy environment as a team player with pastors and staff as well as church leaders, members, guests, and the community at large.
  • Possess a servant attitude and desire to serve the Lord through the local church. Relate well with all people in attitude and appearance.
  • Be proficient in planning, organizing, and handling multiple, simultaneous tasks effectively and efficiently with the ability to give attention to detail and accuracy while maintaining a professional, courteous manner.
  • Exercise good judgment and positively influence others, including handling confrontations with poise and efficiency.
  • Exhibit a high degree of integrity and strictly protect confidential information. Exhibit a willingness to obtain thorough knowledge of the church by-laws, policies, procedures, and general church practices.
  • Possess the skills necessary to perform the functions of the job and show the capacity to learn additional skills the job may require.
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets, Google Docs, Keynote is required..
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills needed. Experience with children or student ministry preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordination, scheduling and communication with volunteers serving in pre- school ministry (Forest Friends Ministry, Treehouse Ministry and Kid’s Check-In Areas).
  • Communication of schedule, reminders and changes to serving teams. Communicate weekly Come and See Team reminders.
  • Actively recruiting and meeting with new volunteers and completing workflows. Training and orientation of all new pre-school volunteers.
  • Sending background check authorization emails to new volunteers who are over 18 years old.
  • Shepherding volunteer teams (reach out by phone/email/visits when needs, births/celebrations arise).
  • Select the curriculum and prepare supplies for weekly services for Forest Friends and Treehouse classrooms.
  • Creation and facilitation with Kid’s Pastor of volunteer training, workshops and appreciation celebrations.
  • Text first time guests from preschool areas on the Monday following their visit as a welcome/check-in.
  • Send birthday cards to all pre-school age attenders.
  • Work with Brookstone Kids Assistant on communication to preschool families (mass communication via Planning Center, announcements, email & social media).
  • Monthly orders of snacks, craft, cleaning supplies and parent day widgets for preschool Ministry. Additionally, ensure that toys, furniture and equipment in the preschool areas remain in good and safe conditions. Wash bedding, soft toys, blankets and infant/toddler items regularly.
  • Ensure all pre-school areas are clean, organized and open prior to any class, event or service.
  • Manage all pre-school areas during classes, events or service.
  • Close all pre-school areas following any class, event or service.
  • Communication with cleaning and maintenance services when needs arise. Planning and overseeing the pre-school curriculum for the annual Summer Splash, Candy Craze, Easter event/services, Christmas program.
  • Planning and facilitating the monthly “Down by The Brook” story time/playgroup.
  • Submission of media requests, advertising and announcement needs to Brookstone Kids Ministry Assistant or to Graphics/Creative Team. Participation in monthly Next Gen Team meeting.
  • Participation in weekly Brookstone Kids’ Leadership meeting. Participation in monthly staff-wide meetings.
  • Maintaining CPR Certification.
  • Maintaining training of safety procedures (evacuation and lockdown) for Brookstone Facilities.

PERSONAL DISCIPLESHIP

  • Maintain a vital and growing relationship with the Lord through consistent time in the Word and prayer and regular worship attendance.
  • Commit to EE training.
  • Strive to maintain and protect biblical priorities in the home.
  • Model the practice of wise stewardship.
  • Seek to maintain accountability through participation in a relational environment.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

The Preschool Director reports to the Kid’s Pastor.

OVERSIGHT:

The Preschool Director will provide oversight to necessary volunteer teams.

HOURS:

Include but are not limited to: Sunday: 6:45am-12:45pm, Monday-Thursday: 9am- 5pm
