Job Title: Pastor, Calvary Baptist Church, Mt. Gilead, NC

Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and spiritually grounded Southern Baptist man to lead our church. The ideal candidate will have a deep love for the Lord, commitment to biblical teaching, passion for pastoral care, and evidence of spiritual sanctification, while demonstrating the ability to foster unity, resolve conflicts, and minister to a diverse congregation of all ages. As our pastor, you must prioritize the guiding of our church in living out the Great Commission. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Preach biblically sound expository sermons that inspire, encourage, and challenge our congregation, while furthering their knowledge of how to understand and apply Biblical doctrine in their personal lives. 
• Be devoted to time in prayer for specific member needs, including spiritual, personal, and interpersonal aspects.
• Provide pastoral care to members as needed, including hospital visits, counseling, and bereavement support outside the regular church setting.
• Support effective ministry programs in the church that promote spiritual growth among all age groups, from the elderly to younger generations.
• Foster a Biblically unified church environment, nurturing church relationships and structure as described in Titus & Timothy.
• Seek the Lord’s guidance when handling conflicts, addressing concerns within the congregation with wisdom, grace, and discernment.
• Support and mentor church members and leaders, encouraging their growth in faith and involvement in serving.
• Ensure church activities & programs align with Biblical beliefs and values.
• Maintain regular communication with church members at church services and beyond.
• Encourage and lead church members in outreach, missions, and community service projects.

Qualifications:

• Ordained Southern Baptist Pastor with a strong theological foundation in Biblical doctrine and scripture.
• Proven experience in ministry, including preaching, counseling, and church leadership.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.
• A servant-leader who can handle difficult situations and individuals with patience, wisdom, and biblical insight.
• Ability to manage conflict effectively and foster a harmonious church environment, as described by Romans 12:18, Matthew 18:15, & Ephesians 4:29.
• A heart for spiritual growth of church attendees & community members through discipleship.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills to manage multiple responsibilities and priorities.

• Humble and approachable, with a deep passion for serving God and others.
• Spiritually mature, able to model a Christ-like life both in and out of the pulpit.
• Compassionate, empathetic, and able to offer sound guidance in times of crisis or difficulty.
• A vision for long-term church growth, both spiritually and numerically.
