Job Description:
Part-time Director of Preschool and Children’s Ministries
Principle Function:
The primary function of the Director of Children’s Ministries is to support the vision and mission of CBC to Explore, Engage, Equip and Empower people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ by planning, coordinating, overseeing, and implementing a comprehensive ministry to children birth through elementary under the support of the senior leadership of the church.
Qualifications for the Position:
1.
Must have experienced salvation and a call to God’s ministry
2.
Must be an active member of Central (or must join upon assuming the position)
3.
It is preferred that the candidate have experience in leading a variety of programs for preschool and elementary aged children
4.
Must demonstrate the ability to plan organize, train, and supervise program and event leaders
5.
Must be able to relate to the parents or guardians of the children, and demonstrate a passion for ministering to children
6.
Preferred associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field, (early childhood or elementary education, child development, children’s ministry, Christian education, etc.)
7.
Must support and uphold the Baptist Faith and Message 2000
Duties and Responsibilities
1.
Planning and executing ministry and outreach events, including parent’s night out, children’s camp, day trips and event, as well as VBS and other seasonal events, while creating environments that facilitate learning and spiritual growth, coordinating space arrangements as needed
2.
Selecting and organizing age-appropriate curriculum for large and small groups, including worship experiences and discipleship opportunities on Sundays, Wednesdays, and other times as requested
3.
Recruiting, training, equipping, and leading teams of volunteers
4.
Creating and overseeing policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for children, including monitoring adherence to Child Protection policies
5.
Preparing and administering the Children’s Ministries budget. Responsible for following financial procedures of the church, including procuring needed supplies, materials, and equipment
6.
Building relationships with children and parents, and helping families grow in their relationships with God and each other.
7.
Communicating a clear vision for ministry to preschool and elementary children, and providing regular evaluations and feedback to team members
8.
Attending staff meetings
9.
Ensuring all children’s programs and events are included on the Church calendar
10.
Performing other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor
