Qualifications and Job Description

PURPOSE:

The role of the Children’s Minister is to provide leadership, development, training, and direction for the Children’s Ministry and volunteer programming teams as it pertains to the vision, mission and strategy of all environments specific to Chinese Baptist Church of Miami.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Children’s Minister provides direction and oversight for the entire Children’s Ministry at Chinese Baptist Church of Miami (infant – 5th grade). Chinese Baptist Church of Miami offers full children’s programming for two services on Sunday mornings, currently averaging a total of 20 children in both services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Children’s Minister provides leadership, training, support and oversight to all Children’s Ministry student and adult volunteer workers. The Children’s Minister works closely with the Senior Pastor and is responsible for the implementation and development of programming for the spiritual formation of children and equipping parents to fulfill their calling as the primary spiritual leaders of their children.

QUALIFICATIONS:

·        Active and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced by action, attitude and behavior.

·         Desire to teach and mentor children with patience and an accepting heart.

·         Preferably have a background in directing a children’s ministry, education in

Children’s Ministries, Biblical Studies, or a related field.

·         BA or BS degree required; divinity degree desirable
