Associate Pastor / Minister to Young Adult Part Time

Oversee all Christian Community Church ministries to Youth and Young Adult (ages newborn through 12th grade and young married). Stay informed about cultural trends and challenges to Christian living (e.g., social media, non-Biblical sexuality, etc.) of which parents and children should be aware. In collaboration with the Senior Pastor, provide age-appropriate informational and discipleship training for children, youth, and parents regarding a Biblical response to cultural trends and pitfalls.

Plan and conduct worship and leadership of Wednesday evening Worship and Sunday morning small groups (Sunday School).

Strong communicator and communication skills, Teachable and approachable (1 Corinthians 2:13-14).

Possess an understanding of the digital environment in which students are living, as well as leadership to students and parents in how best to navigate that environment, Including live stream activities.

Summary of Mesquite (What to expect) Mesquite NV is a desert community in Southern Nevada and does reach temperatures in excess of 100 degrees in the summer (June-Sept) and during July 110+ can occur. It does have mild temps in the winter which accounts for its Snowbird population (Those who go north in the summer and return in the fall). It is growing community with a small-town feel, 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas and 38 miles southwest of St George UT.

Christian Community Church is an evangelical church with Bible teaching based on scripture. The church body is made-up of a lead pastor, 3 deacons and several dedicated members. It has an average attendance of 55 in the winter and 30 in the summer. We currently have Sunday school for adults, a worship service, an outreach to a local assisted living facility, prayer meetings a Ladies and Men’s Bible studies. We live in what could be considered a retirement community but do have a growing number of younger families. The position will help us focus on this younger community. We currently live stream our Sunday morning service. This can be viewed on our website, cccmesquite.org (look for the live stream banner).
