In 1977, a group of 27 dedicated Christians met to organize a mission in the new and growing part of San Antonio near Churchill High School. In 1978, they were led to purchase a desirable 8.5 acre tract on Vista View. Soon, they were formed as a church and started construction of their first building. Since that time, the church has been blessed with expanded facilities, spiritual growth, and many lives impacted by the gospel of Jesus Christ. In 2018, we were joined by a congregation (Churchill En Español) to reach out to the Spanish-speaking community in the area. Today, Churchill Baptist is home to a diverse community of believers whose mission is to “teach God’s Word with passion and clarity, share Christ with enthusiasm and creativity, serve others with grace and determination, love one another in acceptance and faithfulness, and worship God in celebration and awe”.
