The Connections Pastor facilitates relational connection of Colonial Hill Baptist Church guests by leading them to a sense of belonging, involvement, and spiritual growth by meeting them where they are and leading them to their next steps.
Primary Responsibilities and Tasks of the Connections Pastor
- Assist in the overall leadership of the church, ensuring that all ministry opportunities assigned by the Pastor are executed with excellence.
- Create and continuously improve a next steps process that moves people from guest or long-time member to growing follower of Jesus—from “going to church” to “planted in the house of the Lord.”
- Follow up with each person who completes a Connection Card, texts in “SAVED,” gets baptized, attends a small group, or goes to Growth Track to ensure they have their optimal next step.
- Lead and develop a pastoral care team, to include deacons, that follows up in a timely manner with congregants who get ill, are hospitalized, have babies, or lose loved ones.
- Assist the Business Administrator in overseeing small groups, to include identifying, recruiting, training, coaching, and caring for small group leaders.
- Identify, recruit, train, and empower new Dream Team members, and work with Greeter’s and Usher’s Dream Teams to ensure all visitors feel loved upon arrival.
- Create and oversee quarterly events that facilitate community for church members and guests outside of Sundays.
