 Campus Planter/Pastor Residency- Sturgis, South Dakota

Job Description                                                                                              

Connection Church Spearfish is excited to announce a unique opportunity for a Pastor to step into a two-year residency program, preparing for the launch of our Sturgis campus.

We believe God is calling us to plant a campus in Sturgis, South Dakota, and we are seeking a passionate, visionary leader to serve as the Campus Pastor (CP). The selected individual will spend two years on staff at Connection Church Spearfish, receiving intentional training and mentorship, with the full support of our church leadership, to prepare for the planting of Connection Church Sturgis.

Role Overview:

As Campus Pastor, you will play a pivotal role in the planting process, providing pastoral leadership and direction for the new campus, in alignment with the vision, values, and purpose of Connection Church Spearfish. You will be responsible for overseeing the spiritual life and growth of the Sturgis campus, under the guidance and leadership of the Senior Pastor and Board of Elders at Connection Church Spearfish.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Vision: You will lead in the planting process, ensuring the Sturgis campus aligns with the overall values, vision, and purpose of Connection Church Spearfish. You will be responsible for developing and leading the team to carry out that vision.
Pastoral Care: As the Campus Pastor, you will provide pastoral leadership to the congregation in Sturgis. This includes overseeing the spiritual care of the flock, offering guidance, prayer, and counsel as needed, and nurturing the spiritual growth of all who attend.
Community Engagement & Outreach: You will plan, lead, and execute community outreach initiatives, building connections within Sturgis and fostering a church culture that is deeply rooted in service and outreach.
Preaching & Teaching: You will be responsible for preparing and delivering weekly sermons and teaching, maintaining the doctrinal integrity and mission of Connection Church Spearfish while meeting the unique needs of the Sturgis campus.
Staff Development: A key aspect of this role will be identifying, developing, and deploying staff and key leadership teams that align with the vision and beliefs of Connection Church Spearfish. You will invest in the leadership development of those around you, ensuring a healthy and growing team culture.
Requirements:

·        Strong, vibrant, and growing relationship with Jesus: Demonstrates a strong, vibrant, and growing relationship with Jesus Christ seeking to become more Christ–like daily. Meet the Biblical qualifications of an elder.

·        Commitment to Beliefs & Purpose: The ideal candidate must have a deep, unwavering commitment to the beliefs, mission, and purpose of Connection Church Spearfish. The ideal candidate will be in full agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. Demonstrates a passion for reaching the lost. Demonstrates a passion for God’s Word and the spread of His Gospel.

·        Leadership & Development Skills: You must have proven experience in leadership, team building, administration, and equipping others for ministry. A heart for evangelism, discipleship and a passion for raising up leaders is essential.

·        Church Planting Experience (Preferred): Demonstrates a vision, passion, and calling to Church Planting. While prior church planting experience is not required, a desire to learn and grow in this area is crucial. We are looking for someone with a heart for reaching the lost and planting a thriving, gospel-centered campus church. Candidate must pass NAMB Church planting assessment within the 2-year residency.

Relational & Visionary: You must have the ability to connect with people from all walks of life, lead with vision, and inspire others to follow in the mission of the church.
·        Education & Experience: Minimum of Bible College degree. Minimum of two years’ Pastoral experience.

Salary Package:                                                                                                         

Apartment (including electricity, water, cable, gas) plus $20,000 a year for the residency.
