Family Pastor Full Time

Covenant Baptist Church in Collierville, Tennessee, is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Family Pastor to develop and execute a long-term vision for the families of Covenant Baptist Church. About Us:

At Covenant Baptist Church Collierville, we are a warm and welcoming, conservative Southern Baptist Church committed to glorifying God through worship, teaching, and service. We desire to cultivate genuine multi-generational fellowship by connecting those generations within our church for mutual encouragement.

Areas of Responsibilities:

·         The Family Pastor will be responsible for developing and executing a long-term vision for the families of Covenant Baptist Church.

·         He will work directly with seventh through twelfth grade, while giving leadership and guidance to birth through sixth grade, and college/career.

·         Family Ministry

o   Develop and implement a plan for on-going parent involvement, training, equipping, and encouragement

o   Create discipleship opportunities for family spiritual growth

o   Develop strategies to connect all parts of the Family Ministry to the overall life of the church

·         Student Ministry (7th-12th grade):

o   Develop and conduct a strong discipleship program for the student ministry

o   Serve as a role model for our students and promote their involvement in the total ministry of our church

o   Provide planning and supervision for a comprehensive student ministry, including guidance of and the selection, enlistment, and training of student workers

o   Organize and execute Bible studies, outings, fellowships, retreats, and special events to strengthen the church ministry to students and their parents

o   Provide age-appropriate recreational opportunities

o   Prepare and administer an annual student budget

o   Develop and implement a plan to reach out to youth in the community

·         Children’s Ministry (Birth/6th grade)

o   The Family Pastor will work with the Children’s Council to plan and implement the Children’s Ministry. This ministry includes, but is not limited to:

§  Providing leadership and guidance to all aspects the Children’s ministry such as:

§  Nursery, Sunday school, VBS, AWANA, Children’s Choir, Children’s camps

§  Preparing and administering the Children’s Ministry budget

·         College and Career Ministry

o   Work with the leadership and members of this ministry to provide opportunities for spiritual, relational, and social growth. This includes, but is not limited to:

o   Curriculum selection and training

o   Organization of fellowship, outreach, and ministry

Qualifications:

·         A strong personal faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to the mission of the church.

·         Proven experience in student or family ministry (5+ years preferred)

·         Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal skills

·         Training/Degree from a seminary.
