Job Title: Minister of Small Groups & Connection
Position Status: Full-time Ministerial Staff
Supervisor(s): Senior Pastor; Elders
Purpose: This role is responsible for organizing and directing the church’s efforts in small group ministry, connections, and membership. You are tasked with helping people find their place in the body of Christ at Cowboy Fellowship. The job also requires that this individual be focused on training a team of church members to help in the areas of small groups, connections, and membership.
Primary Responsibilities:
Complete Salvation follow-ups initiated in our CHMS from Sunday services and various events to help individuals take their next steps toward baptism and engagement in the Body of Christ.
Complete baptism follow-ups with those who have contacted the church about their desire to be baptized or join the church- help produce testimony videos for upcoming baptisms.
Help design and oversee effective strategies for follow ups needing to be completed after outreach events.
Oversee the new member program and follow up with new members.
Maintain accurate follow-up records through CHMS.
Recruiting, planning, training, and the administration of Small Groups and Discipleship ministries of the church.
Collaborate, plan, and implement strategies that help accomplish the vision and mission of Small Groups.
Create promotional materials and methods that ensure church wide understanding of the Small Groups Ministry, its purpose and importance, and how to get connected.
Identify, develop, and oversee Small Group leaders through regular communication, prayer, encouragement, and personal development.
Serve as the definitive end point for complex and challenging Small Group issues.
Ensure periodic evaluation of all groups and leaders in consultation with Small Group leaders, including decisions about group continuation, etc.
Train a lay-person team from within the church to maintain the Connection Ministry.
Communicate and work with church leadership and staff as needed to help people in connecting, growing, and serving.
Assist in the development of an annual ministry budget and manage spending for your areas of ministry.
Perform other ministry tasks as assigned by the Senior Pastor or Elders.
Qualifications: Seminary training or other specific certificate training for ministry is preferred but not required. Ideally, candidates should be licensed and ordained Pastors of the Gospel with at least some ministry experience plus the following job-related experience:
exhibit a personal and growing relationship with God
possess a flexible and teachable spirit
have the ability to talk about sensitive topics in a non-threatening way and be easily relatable and highly personable.
experience and training related to organizing volunteer efforts, public relations, leadership skills, exercising discretion with confidential information, program/meeting planning
coordinating activities and compiling and/or disseminating information related to guiding people to the next step of their faith
technology skills such as general operating, Microsoft Suite applications, Google Drive, Google Calendar, social media, video editing, visual graphics, etc.
excellent written and verbal communication skills
conflict management skills: leadership skills, exercising discretion with confidential information, program/meeting planning
