Position Overview: Crestview (www.peoplesharingjesus.com) is seeking a called and compassionate leader to promote the mission of Crestview through robust ministry to the senior adult church population. This role oversees homebound and hospital ministry, senior adult fellowship ministries, and discipleship programming, with regular preaching and teaching responsibilities. As a member of the Pastoral Leadership Team, the Encore Pastor works collaboratively with the Lead Pastor and other ministry leaders to reach the lost and grow the godly.
Key Responsibilities
Provide pastoral visitation and spiritual care to homebound and hospitalized senior adults.
Lead ongoing worship services and Bible studies at partnering nursing homes, assisted living centers, and senior care facilities.
Develop, lead, and grow a comprehensive Encore ministry engaging men and women in meaningful discipleship, service, and community.
Plan and lead regular Encore Fellowship gatherings, seasonal outings, and a full calendar of senior adult programming.
Provide end-of-life spiritual care, grief support, and funeral and memorial services as requested.
Qualifications
Education: A strong theological background within the Baptist tradition is required. A bachelor’s degree is required.
Experience: The ideal candidate will have demonstrated pastoral experience with senior adult ministry, including visitation, discipleship, and event leadership.
Required Competencies:
Biblical and theological congruence within the baptistic framework
Spiritual and emotional maturity
Exceptional communication skills (in-person and digital platforms)
Collaborative ministry approach and team development abilities
Organizational and project management skills with flexibility to work varying schedules
Position Details
Reports directly to the Lead Pastor
Full-time, called position of the pastoral staff
Denominational Affiliation: Texas Baptist and Southern Baptist Convention
Competitive salary commensurate with experience and education
