Cross Hill Church is located in Lewisburg, TN. We are a church plant of Grove Hill Church located in Chapel Hill, TN, and began local worship services in October 2024 at Westhills Elementary School. We exist to glorify God and make disciples by loving others, serving our community, and boldly proclaiming God’s word. Our worship services are a blend of traditional and contemporary songs and liturgy, yet led by the Holy Spirit through worship, prayer, and sound Biblical preaching.

Role Description

This part-time on-site role is located in Lewisburg, TN, and is for a Worship Leader at Cross Hill Church. It involves leading worship, coordinating volunteers, and ensuring alignment with the church’s mission and values through song selection and singing. Pending church growth, the individuals’ gifts, skills, and abilities, this could grow into a full-time position.

Key Responsibilities:

Worship Leadership: Plan, prepare, and lead Sunday worship services. Select Biblically aligned songs that fit the sermon series and mission. Lead worship with passion, humility, and musical excellence. Able to add elements of teaching to worship.

Music Ministry Development: Recruit, train, and mentor worship team members. Organize and lead weekly rehearsals. Stay current with new worship music and incorporate hymns/traditional songs as appropriate.

Spiritual Leadership: Model a Christ-centered life and maintain a strong personal relationship with God. Provide spiritual guidance to worship team members. Collaborate with the Senior Pastor and staff to align worship with sermon themes.

Technical Oversight (Preferred): Oversee sound, lighting, and media equipment. Manage audio/visual aspects of services, including eventual live streaming.

Special Services and Events: Plan and lead worship for special services (Christmas, Easter, weddings, etc.).Collaborate with other ministries for music in their events.

Qualifications:

Spiritual: Strong faith in Jesus Christ. An understanding and commitment to both the Baptist Faith and Message (2000) and the London Baptist Confession 1689.

Education & Experience: At least 1 year of experience leading a congregation; music degree preferred, or equivalent experience.

Musical Skills: Proficient in vocal and instrumental worship leading (guitar or piano preferred). A desire for others to learn the art of music, such as reading and singing sheet-style.

Leadership Skills: Capable leader, organizational skills, excellent interpersonal communication.

Technical Skills (Preferred): Familiarity with audio/visual equipment and presentation software.

Character: A servant-hearted leader with humility, creativity, and a deep desire to glorify God through worship. A team player who works well with others and maintains a flexible and adaptable attitude.

Working Environment:

Work closely with the Senior Pastor and church staff. Availability for Sunday services and possible other services. Considers Cross Hill Church their home church.
