Senior Pastor Full Time

Crossroads Church is prayerfully seeking the man God is calling to serve as our next Senior Pastor. We are primarily seeking a full-time pastor.

Crossroads Church is a growing Southern Baptist congregation with a vibrant and welcoming church family. Our membership includes many young families and people in all stages of life who are passionate about biblical teaching, authentic relationships, and reaching our community with the Gospel. We value fellowship, discipleship, and serving together. We are an organized church with committed lay leadership, active ministry teams, and a desire to continue growing both spiritually and numerically.

Position Overview

The Senior Pastor will serve as the primary spiritual leader and shepherd of the congregation, faithfully proclaiming God’s Word and equipping believers to grow in their relationship with Christ. He will lead by example, cultivate meaningful relationships within the church and community, and work alongside our deacons and ministry leaders to fulfill the mission of the church.

Primary Responsibilities

Preach and teach the Word of God with biblical accuracy, clarity, and practical application.
Provide spiritual leadership that encourages discipleship, evangelism, and church growth.
Shepherd and care for the congregation through pastoral counseling, visitation, prayer, and encouragement.
Develop strong relationships with members, regular attenders, and visitors while fostering a culture of authentic fellowship.
Equip, encourage, and mentor ministry leaders and volunteers to effectively serve the church.
Lead the church in outreach efforts that engage the Centralia community and support local and global missions.
Work collaboratively with deacons and other church leaders in planning, vision, and administration.
Moderate church business meetings and provide leadership in organizational planning and ministry development.
Participate in the life of the local ministerial community and represent Crossroads Church within the local Baptist association, the Illinois Baptist State Association, and the Southern Baptist Convention.
Perform pastoral responsibilities such as baptisms, weddings, funerals, communion services, and other ministry duties as needed.
Qualifications

The successful candidate will:

Demonstrate a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a calling to pastoral ministry.
Meet the biblical qualifications for a pastor/elder found in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:5–9.
Wholeheartedly affirm and adhere to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
Possess strong expository preaching and teaching abilities.
Exhibit Christlike character, humility, integrity, and a servant’s heart.
Be an effective communicator, relationship builder, and organizational leader.
Work well with church leadership and volunteers while encouraging unity within the congregation.
Have prior pastoral ministry experience, theological, and/or seminary education, which are preferred but not required for candidates who demonstrate exceptional gifting, biblical knowledge, and ministry effectiveness.

Compensation

Salary and benefits are negotiable based on experience and education.
