General Position Description
The AVL Technician at Crossway Church is responsible for supporting the church’s audio, visual, and lighting systems for worship services, ministry events, online live-stream, and other church gatherings in a way that helps us fulfill our mission to glorify God by making disciples of Jesus Christ who go and make disciples.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
• Worship Production & Service Support
• Lead and support Sunday morning audio, video, lighting, media, and livestream production.
• Prepare ProPresenter, lighting, sermon slides, videos, announcements, and other service elements.
• Help plan services for smooth coordination and flow.
• Troubleshoot production issues before and during services.
• Maintain a clean, organized worship environment and stage.
• Volunteer Leadership & Training
• Recruit, schedule, coordinate, and assist production volunteers.
• Train volunteers in audio, video, lighting, and other production responsibilities.
• Prepare systems and equipment in advance to make volunteer service easier and more effective.
• Audio/Visual Systems & Equipment
• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, replace, and upgrade AVL equipment throughout the church.
• Evaluate ministry needs and recommend appropriate technology improvements.
• Provide AVL setup, support, and training for weddings, funerals, and other church events.
• Video, Livestream & Digital Media
• Record and edit church-produced video content and Sunday messages.
• Assist with video shoots and productions.
• Manage livestream scheduling and Church Online/YouTube platforms.
• Upload, organize, and distribute video content through Vimeo, YouTube, the church website, and social media.
• Maintain organized digital archives of church media.
• Graphics, Website & Presentation Media
• Create graphics, pre-service screens, announcement visuals, and other media as needed.
• Maintain and update the church website.
• Prepare and organize sermon presentation materials.
• Support Planning Center and other ministry technology platforms.
• Ministry Collaboration & Creative Support
• Work with pastors, ministry leaders, and staff to meet audio/visual and creative needs.
• Help develop announcements and supporting media.
• Provide technical and creative support for church-wide events and ministry initiatives.
• Seek ways to improve the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of Crossway’s overall media and production ministry
Other Responsibilities and Expectations
Pray for the people and families in your ministry and community.
Attend weekly worship gatherings.
Attend staff chapel.
Develop spiritually through personal Bible reading, prayer, and Christian community.
Participate in the overall life of the church and in a life group.
Be a team player and maintain the unity of the body.
Practice the personal stewardship of your finances consistent with Scripture, including tithing (which means a tenth) of at least your income from Crossway back to the church.
Enthusiastically support and live out the mission, vision, and strategy of the church.
Abide by the Ministry Team Covenant.
Reporting Relationships
Reports to the Executive Producer of Worship
Hours: Part-time 32 hours
*Open to full-time with Audio Engineering experience (FOH)
