Associate Campus Missionary Full Time

Del Cerro Baptist Church is seeking an energetic man or woman (or couple) to help us launch our college ministry as an associate campus missionary.

The right candidate will have a clear testimony of their faith in Jesus Christ, a deep and abiding love for him, and has been baptized as a believer by immersion. The right candidate also loves evangelism, has a heart for college students and the next generation, is a self-starter, loves and serves the local church, has strong character, and is growing in holiness. Finally, the right candidate must also be willing to raise his or her financial support.

Who We Are
We are Del Cerro Baptist Church–a Southern Baptist church with an emphasis on expository preaching, meaningful church membership, and God’s sovereignty over all things. In addition to the SBC, we are also part of the Pillar Network. Our church has approximately 120 members, with a mix of younger families and older couples. Our church meets in La Mesa, CA, about a five minute drive from San Diego State. We are in the process of starting a college ministry at SDSU and are also involved with ministry at nearby Grossmont College. We seek to see students changed through the power of the gospel and brought into the fellowship of the local church.

What You Will Be Doing
You will be working closely with our college ministry director (Matt Wright), who is leading our college outreach. As such, the role will involve a lot of on-campus evangelism. As more students get involved, more time will begin to be spent discipling students, leading Bible studies, and teaching.

Responsibilities will include:
-on-campus outreach and evangelism
-one-on-one and small group discipleship
-leading Bible studies
-teaching
-event planning
-getting leadership training
-mobilizing students to reach the lost
