KID’S MINISTRY DIRECTOR
DONELSON FIRST

The Kid’s Ministry Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the children’s ministry at Donelson First, providing a nurturing and engaging environment for children to grow in their faith. This role includes developing and implementing programs, managing volunteers, and ensuring the safety and spiritual growth of the children. Additionally, the Children’s Ministry Director will manage the church’s social media presence and handle various office management duties to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Program Development and Implementation:
o Develop, plan, and execute engaging programs and events for children from birth through fifth grade.
o Create age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote spiritual growth and align with the church’s mission.
o Organize special events such as holiday programs, family events, and camps.
o Organize and lead weekly programming.
• Volunteer Management:
o Recruit, train, and support a team of volunteers to assist in children’s ministry programs.
o Coordinate volunteer schedules and ensure adequate coverage for all programs and events.
o Foster a positive and supportive environment for volunteers, providing ongoing training and resources.
• Child Safety and Welfare:
o Implement and enforce child protection policies and procedures.
o Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all children attending ministry programs.
o Handle any issues or concerns related to child welfare promptly and appropriately.
• Family Engagement
o Build and maintain relationships with children and their families.
o Communicate regularly with parents about ministry activities, programs, and events.
o Provide resources and support to help families nurture their children’s faith at home.

• Social Media Management:
o Develop and maintain a social media strategy to promote the ministry of Donelson First.
o Create and curate content for social media platforms, including updates, photos, videos, message content, and event promotions.
o Engage with the community through social media, responding to inquiries and feedback.
• Office Management:
o Handle administrative tasks such as maintaining records, answering phones calls, and ordering supplies.
o Coordinate with church staff and leadership to ensure alignment with the overall mission and goals.
o Oversee the schedule and use of facilities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Ministry, Christian Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.
• Experience in children’s ministry or a similar role.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in social media management and basic office software.
• Commitment to the mission and values of the church.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Reports to:
Senior Pastor

Per the church bylaws, all ministry team members shall lead the church to accomplish the purpose of the church through worship, evangelism, discipleship, ministry and fellowship; shall proclaim the gospel to believers and unbelievers; care for the church’s members and other persons in the community; work under the direction of the Senior Pastor; be of high character, above reproach in their family and community; teach and lead in their areas of responsibility; and agree to teach and minister in accordance with and without reservation, the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
