Music Leader With Media Part Time

Responsible to: Senior Pastor

Position Summary:

The Worship Leader works with the Senior Pastor in accomplishing Dorcas Wills Memorial Baptist Church’s (DWMBC) mission and vision as it relates to worship through music and media. The Worship Leader’s primary goal is to make passionately devoted followers of Jesus Christ especially through music.

Qualifications:

• Exhibit the Biblical example as found in Titus 1:5-9 and l Timothy 3:1-7.
• A demonstrated call to ministry.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area preferred, not required.
• Ability to lead congregational worship in a blended mix of traditional and contemporary music styles.
• A working understanding of the latest trends in creative arts, mass media communication, presentation equipment, and associated technologies (microphones, sound board, monitors, etc.)

• Be knowledgeable and supportive of the DWMBC Church Manual: Constitution/Bylaws and Policies / Procedures.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Worship:

• Work with the Senior Pastor in planning and conducting all worship services.
• Present to the Budget and Finance Committee an annual worship budget after review with the Senior Pastor.
• Serve as worship leader for all services, personally leading the service or providing appropriate alternate leadership where applicable.
• Coordinate the performance schedules of various musicians and vocalists in individual and group presentations.
• Keep abreast of current church music and worship trends through continuing education and personal study.
• Respond to requests from music groups and individuals from outside of the church.
  Responsible for working with church staff and ministry volunteers to develop new music and worship ministries.
• Attend weekly staff meetings {if schedule allows).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Media:

• Setting up sound/media needs for church services and functions, particularly on Sundays and Wednesdays.
• Work with Senior Pastor and other staff in development of video products to be used as sermon illustrations, and worship enhancement.
• Direct the use of media within the service to enhance the worship experience (loading videos/words to worship songs in presentation software, live stream, etc.).
