East Union Baptist Church of Jackson, TN is seeking a part-time Music Minister to join our growing congregation in the East Union community.  Our commitment is to put “Christ Above All” while we share the gospel of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savoir in our community and beyond. We are seeking someone who shares this commitment and is dedicated to sharing Christ’s love through music and worship.

A. Worship Responsibilities

  • To be a professing believer in Jesus Christ.
  • To provide leadership in the music program at East Union Baptist Church and encourage participation in the music ministry of the church.
  • To schedule special music each week in the a.m. service.
  • To select congregational songs in cooperation with the senior pastor and lead the singing while being especially sensitive to sermon topics and seasonal themes with an emphasis on blended worship.
  • To plan and lead Christmas and Easter programs each year and to be involved with major church activities, i.e. VBS, Fall Fest, etc.

B. Weekly Responsibilities

  • To attend staff meetings/Church Council as required.
  • To conduct weekly choir/musician rehearsal.
  • To organize and maintain a library of church music.
  • To schedule various artists/groups at the church.
  • To provide Sunday morning worship planning with affected groups, i.e. pastor, choir, AV, musicians, etc.
  • Any other duties as directed by the pastor.

** Development of youth, college, children, trios and quartets for special group music if you have time or feel led. This is not a job description requirement.

** Willingness to become an active member of East Union Baptist Church.
