Children’s and Preschool Minister Part Time

Principal Function
Responsible to the Pastor for the planning, directing, and developing of comprehensive ministry to preschoolers and children (birth-6th grade) for Eastern Hills Baptist Church.

I. Responsibilities
A. Ministerial
1. Preschool Ministry (Birth-Kindergarten)
a. Work closely with the ministerial staff and develop a Preschool Ministry Committee to develop and oversee ministry to preschool children and their parents
b. Coordinate childcare and nursery workers on Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights, and other times as needed.
2. Children’s Ministry (Grades 1-6)
a. Oversee the strategic development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and events of the Children’s Ministry for the purpose of outreach, discipleship, fellowship, and ministry.
b. Work closely with the ministerial staff and develop a Children’s Ministry Advisory Committee to oversee all facets of the Children’s Ministry.
c. Offer guidance to children and their parents concerning spiritual, personal, and family matters, making referrals to qualified counselors as needed.
3. Family Ministry
Build relationships with parents and guardians of children.
 
B. Administrative
1. Work with the Nominating Committee in the enlistment of all Preschool Ministry and Children’s Ministry Sunday School workers.
2. Work with the Stewardship Committee in the preparation of the annual budgets of the Preschool Ministry and Children’s Ministry and oversee the finances of these ministries.
3. Coordinate all programs and events with the church calendar and other church ministries.
4. Eastern Hills Baptist Church is not calling this minister to accomplish this entire ministry alone, but to serve as leader, enlister, motivator, and resource person for church members who assume leadership positions in the various phases of ministry.
5. Participate in regular staff meetings and retreats.
6. Accomplish other duties as assigned.

II. Spiritual Life
A. The conduct and character of this staff member shall reflect Biblical Christian values at all times.
B. This staff member shall strive to be spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically strong.
C. This staff member shall pursue holiness through personal Bible study and prayer.

III. Unity
A. The faith and practice of this staff member must be in alignment with Southern Baptist doctrine as outlined in The Baptist Faith and Message.
B. This staff member will support the vision of the Pastor and promote unity within the fellowship of Eastern Hills Baptist Church.

IV. Remuneration
Salary and benefits package will be based on the recommendation of the Personnel Committee and subject to the approval of the church.
