About Ekron Baptist Church:
Ekron Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist church that is partnered with the Kentucky Baptist
Convention and the Salem Association of Baptist Churches. We are located 55 minutes south of
Louisville, KY and 30 minutes west of Elizabethtown, KY. Ekron is a small rural community that
has seen tremendous growth in the last few years with Nucor Steel Mill being built in the
county. We recently built and renovated our facilities for both our adult and youth/children
ministries to accommodate church growth. We are a multi-generational church that wants to
continue to grow our youth and children ministries through small group study and discipleship.
We average approximately 180 regularly in worship with approximately 40 students in
Children/Youth Sunday School. We are excited to see how God will use Ekron Baptist Church in
this season of growth.

Job description
REPORTS TO: Senior Pastor and Personnel Committee
PURPOSE:
The Children Ministry (preschool-5 th grade) and Youth Ministry (6 th -12 th grade) seeks to offer a Bible
based ministry for our students. It seeks to evangelize the lost and guide those who are Christian in
spiritual formation.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
 Lead and coordinate the Children and Youth Ministries which includes:
o Organize events creating fun and meaningful opportunities for children and youth which
includes Bible studies and outreach opportunities.
o Spend time developing positive relationships with children and youth families as well as
parents of children under 4 years old.
o Communicate ongoing ministries and activities with students and parents including VBS
and Bible studies.
o Coordinate Children’s Church and volunteers for Sunday worship.
o Participate in teaching opportunities as needed.
 Assist in developing a church budget.
 Coordinate and attend at least one summer camp per year.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:
 Have a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ.
 Passionate about working with the youth and children.
 Able to articulate spiritual matters such as salvation with others.
 Support the Baptist Faith and Message statement of Ekron Baptist Church.
 Able to work with other church staff, committees, and ministry teams.
WORK REQUIREMENT:
 Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.
 Occasional additional days determined by youth and children activities.
