Englewood Baptist Church (EBC) exists to seek the lost and offer opportunities to worship and study God’s Word.  Uniting all believers through Christ and challenging all to learn their God-given gifts through serving together for the glory of God.

Job Overview

EBC is searching for a godly, Baptist youth pastor who will introduce young people to the Lord Jesus Christ and teach them to apply His Word in everyday life through organized times of Biblical study, service, fellowship, and recreational activities.

Qualifications

·         Saved baptized member of a local church.

·         Passion for preaching and teaching God’s word.

·         Mature born-again believer with a clear call from the Lord to be a youth pastor.

·         Lives before God and the world a life that has been transformed by the power of the Gospel.

·         Relates to others (staff, congregants, neighbors, etc.) in such a way that the fruits of the Spirit are demonstrated and everyone is encouraged to become increasingly Christ-like.

·         Evidences spiritual maturity and Godly character as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.

·         Agrees with the theological positions found in the Baptist Faith and Message2000.

·         Agrees with and supports the constitution and by-laws of Englewood Baptist Church

·         Has a philosophy of leadership development that encourages teamwork through training, equipping, deploying and reviewing.

·         Must have (or be in the pursuit of) formal theological training with Bible ministry focus.

Responsibilities of the Youth Pastor

·         Build and maintain strong relationships with the youth of EBC.

·         Facilitate a midweek program that will encourage our students to grow spiritually, worship enthusiastically, and reach out intentionally to serve within the church.

·         Personally teach Biblically based student-relevant Bible studies in the midweek format.

·         Recruit, train and invest in adult leadership to be partners in youth ministry.  This encompasses the teachers, ministry volunteers, and fellowship group leaders.

·         Plan a comprehensive calendar that includes monthly activities, camps and possible mission opportunities.

·         Must have the ability to administrate within the local church context.

·         Expected to attend weekly staff meetings and maintain some office hours.

·         Complete other tasks as assigned by the Senior Pastor.

·         Job performance review every 6 months using input from the Senior Pastor, job description and peers.

·         Would work primarily with 7th – 12th grade students, with some focus on elementary age youth.

·         Additional areas of oversight include Children’s Church and coordination with youth Sunday School teachers regarding curriculum.

Overview

EBC was established in 1926 in Bedford, Indiana.  We have seen God at work over the past 90+ years and expect to continue to be a blessing to the community and people around us.  We are excited to continue relevant, authentic, effective ministry within the community God has placed us.  Englewood Baptist Church is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention.

Wednesday Nights

7:00 Bible Study, Student ministry 7th – 12th grade, Children’s Ministry (Navigator Program) for Elementary age students, Nursery

• Our average Sunday morning worship attendance is 100.
• Our current staff includes a senior pastor, a part-time administrative assistant and part-time custodian.
