Job Description

SUMMARY

The Essential Church Associate Kids Minister is for an individual who is positive, energetic, relates well to children and adults of all ages, and has a heart for discipleship and evangelism in order to help our children learn and grow in the way of the Lord.  Reporting to the Kids Minister and Executive Pastor, this position is responsible for the basic administrative needs of the kids ministry; leading, training, communicating, and recruiting Difference Makers (DMs); as well as the organization and oversight of the Saturday evening service at Essential Church.  This position will work 15 hours per week with 5 dedicated hours to the oversight of the Saturday service and 10 hours for administrative duties.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Oversee the administration of Saturday evening services:
Leadership presence by fully engaging with Difference Makers, parents and kids
Build relationships with parents and kids
Recruit, train, schedule, and provide ongoing support to DMs
Build lessons from approved curriculum
Prepare all materials, classrooms, and Check In Stations
Cover Sunday morning services in Kids Minister’s absence

Oversee the following:
Scheduling and communication with DMs for Sunday services using Planning Center
Inventory and ordering of supplies as needed
Weekly tasks to reset from and prepare for weekend services
Creating and updating graphics for the lobby and social media posts
Scheduling and maintaining social media posts
Preparation and distribution of weekly curriculum materials
Coordinating childcare for special meetings/events

Assist with:
Onboarding new DMs
Following up with new families
Recruiting DMs for Sunday Morning
Calendar/event planning for kids ministry
Training for DMs
Planning and executing special events
DM appreciation

Other duties to be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience

Required 2+ Years of working or serving in kids ministry
Required – Must pass a background check
Preferred 2+ Years of office administrative experience
Preferred 2+ Years of teaching children
Preferred experience working with social media platforms
