Worship Leader Part Time

WORSHIP LEADER — Part time

The Worship Leader should:

• Exhibit the ability to lead with humility, grace, and excellence.
• Be willing and able to join in fellowship with the church as a member.
• Be a member in good standing of a church of like-faith and order.
• Will display the character needed for a leader in the church (1 Timothy 3; Titus 1).
• Plan and lead weekly services, under the direct leadership of the Senior Pastor, ensuring alignment with sermon and church’s mission.
• Be able to contextualize the worship experience, by selecting music, leading worship, directing a small praise band, and scheduling and leading practices.
• Be comfortable in using technology, including worship software (e.g. Planning Center, ProPresenter, etc.), audio / visual multimedia systems.
• Be able to spend approximately 15 hours per week, leading a mid-week practice session as well as the Sunday morning worship service (time commitment will vary depending upon season).
• Foster and build a worship team and oversee special and / or seasonal presentations.
  Occasionally incorporate youth and children’s singing in the service.
• Be able to successfully complete a background check as required by Church policies.
  A background in music, technology and an appreciation for a blended program are desirable.

This is a paid position.

Primary Responsibilities:

Excell Baptist Church is seeking the man God has called to lead us towards God’s throne in order to worship Him in spirit and truth (John 4:24)

Qualifications:

• Display the character needed for a leader in the church (1 Timothy 3; Titus 1).
• Exhibit the ability to lead with humility, grace, and excellence.
• Be a member in good standing of a church of like-faith and order and be willing and able to join in membership with the church.
• Successfully complete a background check as required by Church policies.
• A background in music, technology and an appreciation for a blended program are desirable.
• Be comfortable in using technology, including worship software (e.g. Planning Center, ProPresenter, etc.), audio / visual multimedia systems.

Job Description:

• Plan and lead weekly services, under the direct leadership of the Senior Pastor, ensuring alignment with sermon and church’s mission.
• Contextualize the worship experience, by selecting music, leading worship, directing a small praise ensemble.
• Conduct a mid-week practice session.
• Conduct the Sunday morning worship service (time commitment will vary depending upon season).
• Plan annual music / worship calendar with Senior Pastor.
• Foster and build a worship team and oversee special and / or seasonal presentations.
• Will recruit volunteer team of vocalists, instrumentalists, and audio / visual multimedia team.
• Will engage in periodic review with the Senior Pastor according to church policy.
• Occasionally incorporate youth and children’s singing in the service.
• Will engage in periodic review with the Senior Pastor according to church policy.
