Currently, we are prayerfully seeking God’s man to be our next Associate Pastor. If you are interested in being considered for this position, please submit your resume no later than August 28, 2021. The job description is as follows:

Principle Functions: The Associate Pastor is responsible primarily for the development and execution of the Education and Discipleship Ministry and Administration of the church. Further, the Associate Pastor will work with the Senior Pastor to discern and implement the vision and mission of the church.

Associate Pastor

·       Model personal spiritual growth for the congregation by obedience to the Lord’s calling and consistent personal Bible study and prayer.

·       Partner with the Senior Pastor to discern, develop and implement the vision and mission of the church.

·       Assist the Senior Pastor in pastoral duties such as wedding, funerals, counseling, and visitation.

·       Serve as the moderator of all church business meetings.

·       In partnership with the Senior Pastor, shepherd ministry leaders and staff to grow in their spiritual walk and succeed in their ministry calling.

·       Actively protect the unity of the church family through Biblical instruction.

·       Teach and preach during worship services or special events at the Senior Pastor’s request.

Education and Discipleship Ministry

·       Lead the church in planning, conducting, and evaluating a comprehensive program of Christian education and discipleship.

·       Serve as the primary resource person and advisor to the leaders in the Education and Discipleship Ministry.

·       Work with the staff and the Team on Teams to select and enlist qualified leaders.

·       Establish regular training opportunities for those who lead in the ministry.

·       Maintain regular communication with leaders in the Education and Discipleship Ministry.

·       Participate in associational, state, and national church education programs, conferences, and activities of mutual interest and benefit.

·       Develop and administer the Education and Discipleship budget.

Administration

·       Partner with the Business Manager to supervise the staff to ensure successful stewardship of the church’s resources.

·       In consultation with the Business Manager, obtain all necessary contracts and insurances for the protection, upkeep and repair of campus buildings and grounds.

·       Supervise the Building and Maintenance Supervisor.

·       Review upcoming events and activities with Building Supervisor on a consistent basis to ensure scheduling and needs are met for ministry.

·       Review and track with the Building Supervisor monthly costs in regard to utilities, janitorial supplies, equipment repair, and other costs associated with proper function of the property and facilities.

·       Maintain and implement the Facilities Use Policy.

·       Coordinate and approve all vacation and personal time requests.

General Duties

·       Commit to pray for the leadership and membership of Fairview Baptist Church.

·       Serve as the staff liaison to assigned Ministry Teams.

·       Serve in excellence by being early and prepared for all scheduled meetings.

·       Establish and foster an exemplary Christian relationship with the church family and community as a whole.

·       Champion, support, and advocate for the vision of the church.

·       Demonstrate a servant’s heart by having a willingness to perform other duties as needs may arise.

·       Be a partner with all ministries of the church.

·       Serve in all other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
