Ministry Assistant to the Next Gen & Discipleship Pastor Full Time

Purpose 
As part of the Fairview Next Generation Ministry Team, the Next Generation Ministry Assistant will provide administrative support to the Associate Pastor of Next Generation Ministry. 

Compensation:  

  • Regular Full-Time; Non-Exempt Position with benefits
  • Paid on an hourly basis; approximately 40 hours per week. 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors preferred.
  • 5+ years of administrative experience required. 
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office/365 

Accountability & Oversight

  • The Lead Pastor, or his delegated authority, reserves the right and responsibility to love, lead, and provide oversight and instruction to the Next Generation Ministry Assistant.  The Associate Pastor of Next Generation Ministry has the right to supervise and instruct on all functions of the Next Generation Ministry Assistant.   
  • The Next Generation Ministry Assistant will support the other ministers and directors within the Next Generation team as directed by the Associate Pastor of Next Generation Ministry. 

Responsibilities 

  • Provide administrative support to Associate Pastor of Next Generation Ministry by taking phone calls, maintaining his calendar, making travel arrangements, and handling correspondence. 
  • Ensure quality control of all member and prospect information within church database.
  • Collect Next Generation Ministry data.
  • Maintain the year-to-year discipleship calendar.
  • Schedule all special events and keep any other records necessary for the ministry.
  • Partner with other ministry assistants and/or associates to follow protocol for scheduling and promotion (Realm, Facility Scheduler, graphics, social media, etc.).
  • Maintain the Next Generation Ministry Budget by documenting all expenditures, turning in all receipts, and ensuring department compliance in accordance with Fairview’s Budget and Expenditure Policy.
  • Fills out purchase requests/orders and places orders as needed.
  • Receive and record monies given from offerings and various special events & activities. 
  • Ensure the Next Generation Ministry maintains open and ongoing communication by making phone calls, preparing mailings, and sending texts emails.
  • Notifies ministry volunteers of meetings, training events, etc. through phone calls, texts, emails, and mailings.
  • Assists ministry volunteers with curriculum needs, copies, media, etc.
  • Perform and maintain all required volunteer background checks.
  • Ensures the Next Generation Ministry facility is organized, supplied, and prepared for weekly discipleship programming and special events & activities.
  • Assist in the planning, preparation, and execution of special events and activities (VBS, camps, retreats, mission trips, conferences, summer programs, family ministry, etc.)
  • Assist in the planning and preparation of all Next Generation Ministry trainings and meetings, as needed.
  • Coordinates with creative team to generate promotional materials and methods that ensure everyone at Fairview is aware of the Next Generation Ministry, its purpose and importance, and how to get connected.
  • Reports repair and maintenance needs of the facility to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist the Associate Pastor of Next Generation Ministry in any areas as required. 

Personal Characteristics & Responsibilities 

  • Integrity – Be a person who can be trusted at the highest level and will be sensitive with church related information.  Must be above reproach in all matters of moral character and Biblical convictions.  Confidentiality is a must!
  • Loyalty – Must be a person of unquestioned loyalty to their Lord and God’s church and cannot be double-minded or duplicitous in anyway without being disqualified.  A resignation is required before being disloyal to the Lord, pastoral covering, or the church family.  Keep social media appropriate at all costs.
  • Teachability – Must possess the willingness to learn and lead by example with a Christ-like attitude.  Must always remain correctable and teachable.
  • Must follow all FKC policies and maintain a lifestyle that will not bring reproach upon our Lord or His church.
