Faith Family Fellowship in Spanish Fort, Alabama, is currently searching for a full time Worship Pastor. Spanish Fort is located in Baldwin County, 10 miles east of Mobile, Alabama, on the eastern shore of Mobile Bay. Baldwin County is one of the fastest growing counties in Alabama and the nation. The last four years have been a season of growth for FFF and we believe the Lord will continue to add to our number as we remain faithful to Him and His Word. Here at FFF, we prioritize the necessity and sufficiency of God’s Word in all we do, as well as loving one another in deep and intentional ways.

The Worship Pastor is a full-time staff elder position. A shepherd’s heart and previous experience in pastoral ministry in the local church, along with previous experience in local church music ministry, will be prioritized in this search process. This man should be a skilled musician who exudes hope and joy in the Lord and demonstrates theological depth and precision, especially as he leads the congregation in gathered worship. Position Summary

The Worship pastor will be a man of exemplary Christian character who seeks to glorify God and edify the church through music and worship as a ministry of the Word. He is responsible for planning, developing, promoting, and guiding Faith Family Fellowship’s Corporate Worship Ministry, which includes oversight of the musicians, vocalists, Lord’s Supper, baptism, offering logistics, Sanctuary preparation, and audio/visual support. He will work closely with the senior pastor in the weekly planning and preparation of our corporate worship service and the associate pastor for additional ministry responsibilities.

    Leader: Possesses strong leadership/executive skills and ability to develop others.
    Musician: Plays piano or guitar (primary) and additional instruments (optional), at advanced level and can teach other musicians (vocal, choral, and instrumental).

Primary Responsibilities

  • Corporate Worship: Oversees and leads all worship ministry aspects at Faith Family Fellowship
  • Pastoral Ministry: Carries out the duties of a faithul under-shepherd of Faith Family Fellowship
  • Media: Maintains the church’s online presence

Leadership of the Corporate Worship Ministry

  • Comprehensive development, administration, and oversight of the worship ministry.
  • He will plan, develop, promote, and guide Faith Family Fellowship’s Corporate Worship Ministry Team, which includes oversight of the choir, Lord’s Supper logistics, baptism, offering, Sanctuary preparation, children’s music endeavors, volunteer musicians, and audio/visual support (i.e. videos, web presence).
  • Recruits and leads musicians and vocal volunteers.
  • Plans weekly Sunday worship with the Senior Pastor and leads corporate worship on most Sundays (eg, speaking, praying, reading Scripture).
  • Pursues musical styles and song selections consistent with sound doctrine and prioritizes congregational worship.
  • Prioritizes song selection according to biblical truth over and above personal or cultural preference and popularity.
  • Promotes worship with reverence, excellence, and joy.
  • Leads in such a way that promotes congregational singing and enables the congregation to be the loudest “instrument” in the room.
  • Plans worship for Easter, Christmas, occasional concerts, and worship events.
  • Oversees music within children and youth ministries. Works with volunteers in those ministries to ensure all music needs are met.
  • Develops and administers an annual budget for the worship ministry in accordance with the financial policies of the church.
  • Oversee A/V team volunteers and technical aspects of worship such as the auditorium, music rooms, sound system, lights, Proclaim, printed worship guides, and livestream.
  • Manages related ministry budgets, effectively problem solves, and makes ongoing improvements.
  • Regularly recruits and trains volunteers on equipment and all aspects of music ministry.

Additional Ministry

  • Manages the church’s online presence, updating the website and social media weekly.
  • Demonstrates willingness to make hospital visits, phone calls, house visits, and assists in the care of families in times of crisis.
  • Expected to be an effective teacher of God’s Word and will be called upon regularly to teach in small groups, Sunday school classes, and other ministry settings.
  • On occasion, this individual may also be asked to teach, preach, or lead larger worship gatherings as directed by the senior or associate pastor.
  • Additional responsibilities will be further defined and developed based on the gifts of the individual and the needs of the church.

General Responsibilities

  • Work in coordination with the overall goals, objectives, and vision of Faith Family Fellowship.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in the planning of church programs that will fulfill the mission of the church, including participation in various church functions, programs, and ministries as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
  • Attend monthly elders meetings.

Personal Walk/Gifts

  • Meets the biblical qualifications of an elder (1 Tim 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9) and maintains a humble, teachable spirit (James 4:6; Prov 9:9).
  • Maintains a vital and growing personal walk with God through Bible study and prayer.
  • Maintains proper priorities in the home, especially as a spiritual leader to his wife.
  • Provides sound biblical teaching with a deep knowledge of the Scriptures.
  • Must teach in accordance with, and never contrary to, our church’s two confessional statements: The New Hampshire Confession Of Faith and the BFM 2000.
  • Financially support the work at Faith Family Fellowship and maintain fiscal integrity.

Personal Qualities and Skills

  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to accept and apply constructive criticism with humility and graciousness.
  • Dependable and self-motivated.
  • Plays piano or guitar (primary), and additional instruments (optional), at advanced level and can teach other musicians (vocal, choral, and instrumental).
  • A bachelor’s degree in some area of Biblical studies is preferred. If the bachelor’s degree is not in some area of Biblical studies, then a master’s degree in some area of Biblical studies is required.

Culture and Responsibility

  • Supervisor: Senior Pastor
  • Work week to typically consist of 40 hours, to be divided among church and worship ministry related activities.
  • Work hours may vary week to week depending upon ministry related functions but typical office hours are Monday-Thursday, 8:30-3:30
