FAITH FELLOWSHIP CHURCH STUDENT MINISTRY INTERN POSITION DESCRIPTION

Purpose: The purpose of the Student Ministry Intern position is to support the Lead Pastor in carrying out the mission of Faith Fellowship Church. The Student Ministry Intern is expected to:
• Strive to live up to God’s call as defined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9; 1 Peter 5:1-4.
• Assist Pastor/Elders in the shepherding aspect of Pastoral ministry.
• Lead and develop the Student Ministry
• Be committed to a spiritual/professional growth plan.
• Champion the discipleship strategy of Faith Fellowship Church

Accountability: The Student Ministry Pastoral Intern will be accountable to the Lead Pastor and will work with other staff members and lay people in coordinating the Student Ministry. Verbal and/or written performance evaluations will be completed at least semi-annually.

Qualifications: Meet the moral and spiritual requirements set forth in the Word of God – specifically 1Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9.
• Wife (if married) must meet the qualifications outlined in 1Timothy 3:11 and exhibit the personal faith, lifestyle, and spiritual maturity that will enhance her husband’s ministry.
• Be called by God to the Gospel ministry
• Successfully pass appropriate legal and financial background checks before being hired.
• Support the Constitution and By-Laws of Faith Fellowship Church and its doctrinal beliefs as amplified in the Baptist Faith and Message (2000 edition).
• Become members of Faith Fellowship Church as soon as possible after accepting this position.

Requirements:
• Be Personable – comfortable with people and good at relationships.
• Be a Catalytic Leader – skills to lead and the ability to connect with students and the congregation organically and in brief moments during worship services such as communicating the clear vision of the church, Bible reading/prayer, occasional preaching, announcements, etc.
• Be Professional/competent – experience is not necessarily required, however serious commitment to the church and the position is expected.
• Be Creative – this is a definite plus. Out-of-the-box thinker who can problem-solve.

Responsibilities:
• Communicate the vision, create the culture, and help build a dynamic, Christ-honoring, disciple-making Student Ministry
• Work to enlist and equip leaders for the group.
• Study our city. Develop strategies and implement our missional hangout strategy for numerically growing the Student Ministry
• Attend weekly staff meetings
• Meet weekly with the Lead Pastor to strategize, evaluate, and personally develop in ministry  progress
Participate in the worship service in a variety of roles such as leading in prayer, giving  announcements, and occasionally preaching
• Perform other duties as assigned

Note that this internship position carries with it quite a bit of freedom to experiment and grow a student ministry. This is an ideal position for an adventurous leader looking for experience.

Work Schedule:
10 hours/week
Weekly Staff Meetings – ~2 hours
Sundays – ~4 hours
Remainder to be coordinated with Lead Pastor
