Senior Pastor Part Time

Responsibilities and Duties:
● The Pastor shall be the primary preacher of the Word of God at
Faith Lakeside and lead the Elders in protecting and teaching sound
Biblical doctrine.
● The Pastor shall serve alongside a plurality of elders, all equal in
calling and responsibility, but with unique responsibilities and areas
of service.
● The Pastor shall lead or delegate the leadership of congregational
worship services.
● The Pastor shall provide pastoral counseling to the congregation
and others within the community (as available and dependent on
qualifications).
● The Pastor shall lead the pastoral ministries, working with the
Leadership Team (Elders & Deacons), ministry team leaders, and the
church staff, to:
○ Proclaim the Gospel in Faith Lakeside and the community
○ Provide pastoral care of members
○ In conjunction with the other members of the Leadership
Team, develop a vision for Faith Lakeside and its mission in
the community
○ Provide training to new members as needed
○ Contact new members and visitors as needed.
● The Pastor shall seek to train and equip the congregation for
performing missions and ministries both inside the church and
within the local community.
● The Pastor shall counsel with and assist in training ministry leaders
for their service within the church and community.
● The Pastor shall participate in church ministries and provide input
as appropriate.
● The Pastor shall be available for performing weddings and funerals
for church members and those affiliated with the church (dependent
upon status).
● The Pastor shall direct the administrative duties of the church office
and administrator and provide supervision to any other paid staff.
● The Pastor shall represent Faith Lakeside at the Upper Ohio Valley
Baptist Association and the state convention of affiliation, attending
regular meetings and informing the congregation of any relevant
initiatives or issues.
● The Pastor shall represent Faith Lakeside within the community and
among the local churches.

Qualifications:
● The Pastor shall meet the requirements for “overseer” as defined
in 1 Timothy 3:1-7.
● The Pastor shall meet the requirements for leadership at
Faith Community Church Lakeside as follows:
○ Associations: Exodus 23:2, Psalm 1:1, Proverbs 24:1, I
Corinthians 6:14, I Corinthians 15:33, Psalm 119:63,
Proverbs 2:20, Proverbs 13:20, II Thessalonians 3:14

● The Pastor shall accept the Baptist Faith and Message 2000
as standard for faith and practice.
● The Pastor must accept the church’s covenant and doctrinal
statement without reservation.
● The Pastor shall have demonstrated wisdom and sound judgment in
his family life, relationships, finances, business, and ministry.
● The Pastor shall have a Bachelor’s degree as a minimum (Christian
Studies, Bible degree, Certification, or Master’s preferred), and a
solid theological understanding of the Word of God.
● The Pastor shall have demonstrated leadership skills via past
ministry, business, or other experiences.
● The Pastor shall have a demonstrated ability for preaching and
teaching the Word of God.
● The Pastor must have a specific love for and calling to the Pittsburgh
area and a passion to reach the people of the greater Pittsburgh area.

Compensation and Additional Expectations:
– Salary will be based on experience.
– A benefits package and housing allowance can be negotiated upon
offer of employment.
– 10-15 Minimum Available/Office Hours each week.
– This role will likely be Bi-Vocational but is open for discussion.
