Who We Are
Fall Creek Church is located on a 46-acre campus in Indianapolis, Indiana, with 243 active members. We are a participating member of the Southern Baptist Convention and are affiliated with the Crossroads Baptist Association. Our church utilizes an Elder model for leadership and is supported by a faithful and active Deacon and Deaconess ministry devoted to service, care and the unity of the church body, all governed by our 2023 Constitution and Bylaws.
Our Search
Building upon more than 21 years of faithful pastoral shepherding, Fall Creek Church is prayerfully seeking a Senior Pastor who is first and foremost a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ, demonstrating a vibrant and continually growing relationship with Him. The Senior Pastor will serve as the primary spiritual leader of the church, modeling Christlike character and shepherding the congregation with integrity, wisdom, and humility.
Qualifications
Spiritual & Character Requirements
A disciple of Jesus Christ who exemplifies a growing, personal relationship with Him
Demonstrates a genuine love and passion for serving the Lord
Committed to a lifestyle of holiness and serves as a godly model for the entire congregation—adults, young adults, students, children, and families
Demonstrates an attitude of servant leadership and humility
Meets the scriptural qualifications of a Pastor/Overseer (1 Timothy 3:1–7; Titus 1:6–9)
Ordained or willing to be ordained within a Southern Baptist church
Professional & Ministry Requirements
Minimum of five years of full-time pastoral ministry experience preferred (e.g., senior pastor, associate pastor, or other pastoral role)
Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
Proven ability to navigate conflict with biblical wisdom and grace
Ability to adapt to ministry needs, congregational growth, and change
Proficiency in administrative responsibilities, including budgeting, organizational planning, and coordination with church staff and lay leadership
Unwavering conviction that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, sufficient, and final authority for faith and practice, demonstrated through faithful exposition, teaching, and application of God’s Word.
Wholehearted affirmation of the Baptist Faith and Message and the Nashville Statement as faithful doctrinal expressions of biblical truth.
Willing and joyful agreement with Fall Creek Church’s doctrine and mission, Constitution and Bylaws Fall Creek Church
Education
A seminary degree (MDiv or equivalent) is preferred but not required. Demonstrated theological depth and a commitment to ongoing study are essential.
Core Responsibilities
Gather
Preaching & Teaching: Serve as the primary teacher of the church, providing expository sermons with doctrinal integrity. Lead the congregation in spiritual growth through Sunday services and other educational programs.
Congregational Engagement: Be a visible, relational presence in the life of the congregation. Foster an atmosphere of biblical community, fellowship, and mutual care among church members.
Go
Evangelism & Outreach: Champion the church’s commitment to evangelism, missions, and community outreach. Equip the congregation to share the gospel and engage their neighbors, city, and the world with the love of Christ.
SBC Cooperation: Maintain the church’s standing and active cooperation with the Southern Baptist Convention at the local, state, and national levels, including the Crossroads Baptist Association.
Serve
Pastoral Care & Shepherding: Provide counseling and visitation in coordination with the Deacon and Deaconess ministry. Preside over ordinances such as baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Demonstrate genuine compassion for those who are hurting, grieving, or in need.
Staff Leadership: Manage, mentor, and support the church staff and council, fostering a healthy and collaborative ministry environment.
Grow
Discipleship & Spiritual Formation: Develop and oversee ministries that promote spiritual maturity, including small groups, mentoring relationships, and lay leadership development. Equip members for the work of ministry (Ephesians 4:11–12).
Visionary Leadership: Lead the church in achieving its mission statement through prayerful, Spirit-led vision. Collaborate with the Elders, Deacons, and staff on strategic planning, financial stewardship, and long-term ministry goals.
Accountability & Governance
The Senior Pastor serves under the spiritual authority of the Elders and in accordance with the Fall Creek Church Constitution and Bylaws. The Elders provide spiritual oversight, accountability, and collaborative partnership in leading the church.
