Job Title: Student & Young Adult Ministries Assistant

Reports To: Pastor of Students & Young Adults

Hired By: Executive Pastor

Position Status: Part-Time Regular— Non-Exempt

Position Summary: The Student and Young Adult Ministries Assistant has the opportunity to gain real world ministry experience through hands on work. The Student and Young Adult Ministries Assistant will receive experience and training in every aspect of student and young adult ministry.

Expectations:

➢ Must be available for Monday, Wednesday, Sunday ministry activities and any other scheduled ministry events.

➢ Should possess the ability to teach from the Bible, possess good time management/communication skills and a humble approach to learning.

➢ Adept at communicating effectively and responsibly with students, young adults, families and church staff

➢ Demonstrates a positive attitude while being a humble servant leader

➢ Must be able and willing to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities:

➢ Assist the Student Pastor as he evangelizes, disciples, and leads students from grades 6-12 and young adults as they grow to love Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior

➢ Meet weekly with the Student/Young Adult Pastor and attend church staff meeting

➢ Provide timely feedback on the overall mission and development of the ministry with the Pastor of Students and Young Adults

➢ Assist with the implementation and development of new student, young adult ministry teaching plans

➢ Assist with the development of new young adult groups

➢ Ensure that meeting locations are set up and clean before and after Monday, Wednesday, Sunday services and student/young adult events. Must be willing to work evenings on Monday and Wednesday

➢ Manage check-in process for all student ministry activities

➢ Assist with recruiting and training of new volunteers

➢ Ensure volunteers receive important updates in a timely manner

➢ Assist with managing intern work assignments and provide feedback on intern performance

➢ Maintain weekly report of attendance and any issues/needs

➢ Assist with the preparation of student and young adult events as directed by Pastor of Students and Young Adults

➢ Develop and distribute resources for the Student and Young Adults programs as assigned

➢ Assist the Student and Young Adult Pastor with the implementation of new ministry initiatives, events and outreach.

➢ Assist the Student and Young Adult Pastor with advertising upcoming ministry activities and maintain a biblically focused, positive, vibrant social media presence for both student and young adult ministries.

➢ Assist the Student and Young Adult Pastor with an ongoing follow up plan for new attendees/families, MIA students/young adults and assimilation process.

➢ Any other responsibilities delegated by the Pastor of Students & Young Adults

Qualifications:

➢ Must affirm the Baptist Faith & Message 2000

➢ Minimum of one year of student and young adult leadership ministry experience

➢ Good time management and communication abilities

➢ Scriptural evidence of student and young adult ministry calling

➢ Attending ministry education/training at an accredited on-ground or online college

➢ Will have a desire to pursue or be currently pursuing a call to vocational ministry

Preferred Qualifications:

➢ Two plus years of leadership in student/young adult ministries

➢ Associates Degree in ministry related field

Compensation & Evaluation:

➢ $17.00/hour to start. Up to 32 hours per week, as needed. Position will be re-evaluated after 60-day Review Period.

➢ A monthly cell phone stipend of $45.00.

➢ This position takes direction from and reports to the Pastor of Students & Young Adults. A performance evaluation will be conducted annually. Compensation is reviewed annually.
