Student Ministry Director Part Time

FBC Fairview Heights is looking for a part-time student ministry director. This position is designed to be about 15 hours per week and is prioritized to grow as the ministry grows. 

Main Duties & Responsibilities Sunday Morning & Evening

• Ensure that Sunday morning Small Groups are staffed and that teachers are equipped with the curriculum and resources needed
• Participate in the worship service as needed (announcements, prayer time, occasional preaching opportunities)
• Develop and lead a Sunday evening discipleship class
• Recruit and develop volunteers to serve in the student ministry and empower them to assist in the student ministry

Events & Activities

• Goal is to put together one activity a month (fellowship, mission project, hangout, etc.)
• Plan and execute summer camp each summer, including recruiting chaperones
• Help out with church-wide missions and ministries (Fall Car Show, VBS during summer, Easter, church-wide fellowships, etc.)

This position is not required to attend our Tuesday staff meeting if their schedule (classes or other employment) doesn’t allow, but is expected to have a weekly check-in meeting (in person or digitally) with the Lead Pastor. If a candidate wishes to get experience preaching, the Lead Pastor will gladly allow those opportunities to grow. If a candidate wishes to expand ministry capacity, the Lead Pastor will gladly mentor & let the student director shadow on pastoral care, hospital visits, and leadership meetings.
