Job Description: Minister of Music

Location: First Baptist Church Hamshire

Reports to: Senior Pastor

Salary Range: $40,000 – 45,000 ( part time )

Type of position: Part Time w/ Potential for full time (Full time range approximately 60,000-65,000)

Education / Work Experience Requirements

Theological Training OR Ministry Experience
Evidence of God’s call to ministry

Responsibilities

Worship Programs Management and Development
Lead and direct all worship activities
Direct the planning, coordination, operation, and evaluation of a comprehensive Music Ministry.
Lead and direct all soloist, choral and instrumental groups, special projects ministries, funerals, weddings, music library, and other
activities as requested.
Coordinate with pastor on worship service planning and music selection to enhance worship service and message.
Serve as worship leader in all worship services.
Oversee song and choral selection, media preparation and presentation, sound and lighting enhancements, and coordination of all
instrumentalists and vocalist.
Oversee worship department budget, organization, and volunteers. Work with other committees on budget as outlined.
Mentorship and Discipleship
Develop strong relationships with ministry team in order to build a cohesive ministry.
Develop strong relationships with parishioners in order to lead the congregation in furthering their walk in Jesus Christ.
Congregation Engagement
Enthusiasm for leading a large congregation in worship.
Deep desire to enhance the worship service through music and prepare hearts for receiving of the message.
Preach and Teach
Ability to preach and teach in pastor’s absence.

Qualifications

Strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ and commitment to the teachings of the Bible
Previous experience working in music ministry
Skilled in vocal, choral, and instrumental direction
Skilled use of technology in worship, as well as sound, lighting, computer, power point, and video projection
Ability to incorporate other art forms as needed
Ability to minister in Christ-like love to members and non-members of First Baptist Church Hamshire
Strong leadership, communication skills, and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to address issues head on in a loving manner
Calm under pressure and positive attitude
