NEXT GEN ASSOCIATE MINISTER
The Next Gen Associate Minister (NGAM) will serve as a member of the pastoral staff, report to the Senior Pastor and oversee, manage, and direct the children’s, student, college and career, and young married ministries, in order to help fulfill the mission of Hartsville’s First Baptist Church.1

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Have clear testimonies for salvation and baptism by immersion
Have a clear call into ministry
Have a lifestyle that demonstrates a deep sense of commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
Have an understanding of and commitment to the overall mission, vision, and values for the church2
Become an active member of Hartsville’s First Baptist Church
Have a passion for evangelism and discipleship
Have a passion for young adults and children
Have strong communication skills with the ability to relate well to people of all ages
Be aligned theologically to First Baptist Church and the Baptist Faith and Message, 2000
If the candidate is married, the spouse must also sense a calling to the church in a support role for their spouse
Have a reasonable, long-term vision for the position at this church
Educational and experience:

⚬  A Bachelors Degree preferred
⚬  At least two years experience in ministry at the same church preferred

STAFF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The NGAM will recruit, equip, and oversee leaders, and teach as needed in the 1st Kids Children’s ministry and IMPACT Student ministry, and launch a College & Career ministry and a Young Mar- rieds’ ministry when the time is right
The NGAM will share in normal pastoral functions, including worship services, weddings and funer- als as needed, hospital and member visitation, and other duties
Attend weekly staff meetings and communicate regularly with other ministers and staff
Provide and monitor yearly goals and objectives for the each ministry
Prepare a yearly budget proposal ministry areas and operate within the approved budget
Participate in continuing education/training as directed by the Senior Pastor
Connect with FBC’s Preschool Director the Child & Family Resource Foundation in order to build bridges between our church and unchurched families
Participate community events and activities related to the NGAM’s areas of ministry Background check, credit check, and references will be required.

 

Salary is very competitive based on education, experience, etc.
