First Baptist Church – Holliday, Texas

Youth & Family Pastor

Classification: Full-Time Pastoral Staff

  • Be the primary teaching voice for students on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights.
  • Put together Sunday morning and Wednesday night programming that equips and empowers students to grow in their faith.
  • Oversee the recruitment of adults to serve in the student ministry.
  • Intentionally disciple young men in the student ministry to step into their faith, as well as empower female adults to do the same for the young women in the student ministry.
  • Attend events for students, whether they be athletic, academic, or the arts.
  • Seek to reach the parents of students in the youth ministry, encouraging them to get connected to the church themselves.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings with a readiness to provide a different perspective on decisions being made.

With the Help of The Youth Committee:

  • Plan and oversee regularly-scheduled youth events outside of church programming for the sake of community, fun, and bonding.
  • Plan and oversee youth service opportunities and student involvement in church mission trips.
  • Plan and oversee events for the students such as the Winter Retreat, D-Nows, or Youth Camps.

Come Alongside The Lead Pastor In The Following Ways:

  • By serving on various committees.
  • By being an additional voice in the pulpit on Sunday mornings when needed.
  • By attending deacons meetings and partnering with the deacon body to seek the Lord’s guidance and direction in our church.


  • Meets the Biblical requirements outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 & Titus 1:5-9.
  • Has a willingness to work as a team and be part of a joyful staff culture that supports one another.
  • Prior experience leading a student ministry is preferred but not required.
  • Theological education or training of some capacity is preferred, whether that is an undergrad degree with a ministry emphasis, an intentional apprenticeship, or seminary degree.
  • Confident in teaching Scripture to students in an engaging manner.
  • Desires to make disciples, not to simply draw a crowd or go through the motions of church life.

Financial Package:

The salary range will be $50,000-56,000 based on experience and previous responsibilities. We will also provide insurance for the individual employee.
